Yesterday around 2 PM my Mom called to ask if I had told anyone to go by her house and pick up tools. I said no. Then she told me that a female had walked under the garage, picked up a tank like device which turned out to be a $300 portable air compressor and walked to the road and put it in the bed of a small red pickup with a blue tarp covering something also in the bed. She got in-the truck which was driven away by a male.

I told her to call the police. Then I drove 15 minutes to get to her house to meet the officer. He took a report and said that he was going to drive by local pawnshops to see if he saw the truck my Mom described. Then he and I left. It is now 30-45 minutes after the incident.

He pulled out to the left and headed around the block to the main highway running through town. I made a right and went the other way around the block then turned left onto the same highway. About 200 yards away was a pawn shop. There was a red truck with a blue tarp in the back parked in the parking lot. I also noticed that the officer was parked nearby.

I called the officer’s cell and walked inth pawnshop where I saw a women who fit the description standing at the counter. My compressor was on the counter next to her. I told the officer that it was the perps with my compressor.

He pulled in and blocked the truck then came inside. I told him that the compressor on the counter was mine. She confessed on the spot. She said that the male who was with her had nothing to do with it. The pawnshop owner told the officer that the male had carried the compressor inside. Long story short, I got my compressor back and they went to jail. Both were on parole for similar crimes.

Had the dumbasses not argued with the pawnshop owner over a price they would have been long gone. Not to mention that if you do steal something it’s not a good idea to try to pawn it at the first pawnshop that would have been checked only 15 seconds away from the place you stole it.

Glad to have them back in jail where they belong. Nice to get back your compressor too.

Methheads? Sounds like they needed a fast fix.

By the way, did I mention that the Police station is closer to Mom’s house that the pawnshop?

It’s only about 10 seconds from her driveway.

You should start a seperate thread for the stories, Anthony.

Anthony,

Glad you got your property back and just as glad the "AH's" were caught.

The event does provoke an idea though. If I leave my garage door up, maybe someone will steal my golf clubs and spare me a lot of future pain and suffering.

Not a bad idea. I’ll have to check where I’m at on statutes of limitations in many cases.

Here’s one.

When I was a supervisor at the local lockup one of my duties was to assist deputies when inmates refused to return to their cell when their allotted hall time had ended. We had this one guy that refused to go up everyday. So a few of us would go on the tier and “escort” him back to his cell.

One day I was called to help get him back in his cell. When I got to the tier he came out of the bathroom where he had covered himself head to toe in $hit. He looked at me and said for us to come in and put him back in his cell. I told him that if he didn’t go back in his cell it would be months before his cell opened the next time. He thought about it and entered his without further adieu.

Later on I made a round on his tier. He had cleaned himself up somehow. He told me that he thought about his choices and decided he would pass because the only bright part of his day was coming out, showering and using the phone. The thought of being unable to do so for an extended period would have made him go crazy. Then he told me that he never expected me to react the way I did and that he was looking forward to covering us all with his 💩

They key to doing that job is being one step ahead of those clown 🤡

Anthony, when dealing with that type of stupid/crazy on a daily basis how did you keep your perspective/sanity? I know I am not quite stating what I want to ask. I can't quite think of how to word my question.

I saw a clip on TV yesterday where a crazy person or someone on drugs spit on an officer. The officer lost his cool and punched the person a number of times. I thought that was not the right thing to do, but totally understood how/why that could happen and felt sorry for the officer. What I am trying to ask is given that type of crazy how did you manage to keep your balance.

My dad stopped being a street cop about '83... He recently said the ACLU would've take him down if he stayed on the job... He was able to move into very upper level law enforcement tho.. I think he misses busting heads tho... My grandfather was supposedly a mean cop too... Mellow

Great story ( the O.P.) Anthony....

I love the ...one goes east and one goes west aspect...
You cover more ground that way...

Gotta love an "on the spot confession"....

Better tell your mom to keep her garage door down and locked...

Around my town, everyone is becoming so BRAZEN IT ISNT EVEN FUNNY...they look for open garages, look for yard workers then distract the yard person while the other loser enters and steals ( the good old gypsy trick),
And young teenagers are checking car doors at night and stealing from cars (a 16 old in AVALON N.J. / RICH AS HELL RESORT TOWN ...last week , rifled thru cars from
10 pm to 5 am and reportedly found $13,000 in cash from several cars, rich people are dumb, he got tons of other items too)...
And around us, lately...when you get home from the store and open your trunk and UNLOAD...the little BASTIDS case you out then pounce when you go back and forth...the main item is beer and LIQOUR that they steal from car trunks...

We also have a brand new high end shopping center 2? Miles away...EVERY FREAKIN DAY it is police log city...
ALL SMASH AND GRABS FROM ITEMS LEFT IN PLAIN SIGHT...WALLETS, PHONES, PURSES, LIQUOR, NEW ITEMS IN BOXES...THERE IS SHATTERED GLASS IN THE PARKING LOT EVERYWHERE...

NOTE TO EVERYONE ON HERE...

Y.O.U. KNOW "ONE SMART C********S STORY"

THAT BRAINIANIC BALLSY DUDE WHO RAN CIRCLES AROUND THE FBI-SSG DIVISION FOR 5 + YEARS...
AND they spent W.A.Y. over $52 MILLION DOLLARS TRYING TO CATCH HIM...
BUT "MR. HE / HIM " WAS JUST TOO SMART FOR THOSE SSG FELON CRIMINAL MURDERERS TO PROSECUTE...

I CAN'T SEEM TO REMEMBER THE GUYS NAME THOUGH?
