We must enact reasonable straw control laws!

No more straw man purchases of straws.

I can see 3D printed straws as the next big issue.

Easy.

Since there are people who may have their rights infringed, we need a new government program that will supply free straws to those people who show a legitimate medical need. Of course that new agency will need oversight so that straw abuse won't run rampant. And since they will be government straws, they'll need extensive FDA approval and manufacturing oversight. Each new government straw will cost $683.

For the love of all that is holy... my son said something about this... supporting it. It physically hurts that I think the kid listened more to his libtard teachers than he did to me.

I said I was leaving this loony state... SF was worried about straws, when their streets were covered in feces and dirty needles. Kid said that I was false equating, and the issues were unrelated.

My response: My point - there are more pressing issues on which SF could spend its taxpayer's dollars than f***ing straws. The time and effort these city representatives are spending on the "straw" issue could be spent on more important issues. Before you start painting the house, you probably want to pressure wash it and fix the f***ing stucco.

Well, not sure what you expect out of them... San Francisco is a sh*t hole.

There's a lot of reasons not to go to a city... Like if it's boring... Or miserable weather.... But sh*t on the ground? That's a lame reason not to go.

I didn't click on the link, but I'm assuming that's the same map from the http://mochimachine.org/web/wasteland/ website. FYI I lived at the border of what is S**tistan on that map for 3 years... Right where the line of dark brown stops and light brown begins... Not the worst thing in life. I'd say it still was better than living in Wisconsin.

I have no desire to go there either.

IMO, human sh*t and needles peppered all around is a very good reason not to go somewhere. It's a similar to why I don't pack up the kids and go for a picnic at the local dump.

It's just not sanitary.

But if you like living by a giant f*cking toilet, I have no problem with it...

There are upsides and downsides to everything. Of course no one enjoys "living by a giant f*cking toilet" (probably not even the homeless who sh*t and piss everywhere and leave their needles....)... But you accept that because of the combination of upsides which make it worthwhile as a net proposition.

No, YOU accept it because of the upsides, me? ... I'd rather sacrifice a little and not live by a giant f*cking toilet. That's just me though.

Of course.
If you don't enjoy the same things I enjoy you won't want to live where I live. Not sure how that wasn't something you picked up at the outset.

Not everyone wants to live in the same place. I wish fewer people wanted to live where I want to live. My rent would be cheaper. I don't even know where you live... So I can't comment on what it's shortcomings are.

I live in AZ... the shortcomings are it's hot in the summer.

On the flip side of that, golf is really cheap right now.

Another bonus is our homeless tend to migrate west for the summer.

... Golf isn't something anyone should play.... For free or cheap...
.... AZ is hot all the time ... Not just summer.
... Again... There is no city to live in... Where would you live?

I have made no attempt to validate, but I read recently that the median home price in SF is $1.6M. WTF???
That means HALF of ALL the homes in SF are more than that. Is it any wonder that people live on the street? The cheapest house for sale that I found in quick search was 1200SF foreclosure on auction with current bid of $480K.....and part of the description reads:

"Seller believes the property may be occupied by someone other than the previous mortgagor.
This property is reported to be occupied and buyer is responsible for obtaining possession.
Property is being offer as is, where is."

Wow

... it's worse than you think. In the Bay area total tear downs sell for near 1MM...

It is very easy for a person to become homeless here. Unless you have a two income family with 100k per person, I would guess most are an unexpected layoff, or health issue away from not being able to pay their rent.

It's an expensive city to live in... I don't know why people stay when they are not earning enough to be secure here... I would think they would move somewhere cheaper and crappier... Like Arizona...

....bgz... Huh?
I would live in SF over anywhere in AZ in a heartbeat. You may think that you're response is clever.... But the simple fact is that I chose to live in SF. I did not choose to live in AZ. In fact, it is pretty clear that the demand to live in SF is significantly higher than that of AZ...

No idea why you care... You live in AZ... Get down with your bad self... I sure as hell would never move there.

If that's true, then why do so many Californian's come here every year?

I probably won't stay here for ever though as Californians are like Muslims, every city they escape to, they try to turn it into the same thing they ran from.

It's pretty twisted really.

Different strokes for different folks... living in a big city or living in a desert isn't a matter of right or wrong...

some people want to live in apartments with lots of neighbors, some people want to be all alone in a cabin in the woods...

Some people want to live in syringe and feces infested neighborhoods, some people want to live in a desert where it's perfectly normal for your closest neighbor to r-word you with sleepy time burritos on the regular...

If you ask me, you both live in terrible places... bet neither of you can even grow your own tomatoes... Not talking

I generally refuse to live anywhere I can't walk to a number of bars and restaurants. I would prefer if my downtime be fun... Not stuck at home or having to drive to bars and watching what I consume.

I did all my partying in my early life, I'm pretty much a homebody now.

I like to play golf and do things with the family... other than that, I prefer to chill at home and do a whole lot of nothing. So I guess I'm the opposite of victor.

Oh, when you are a pro chiller like myself, you do have to watch what you consume otherwise you'll break your recliner... but I'm good with that.

One of the main reasons I left living in the city. Aside from the daily gang shootings over drugs and turf, got tired of kicking junkies off the stoop, bleaching their blood and feces off the steps before my kids went to school, and having to clean-up their needles from the yard before cutting the grass.

It gets old. But unlike others, instead of resorting to physical violence I simply moved to a better neighborhood. To each his own.

Let the prosecution begin… wait for it. Inevitably there will some childish comment about altitude.

San Fran is a great city.
Well, except for all the needles and crap and stuff.

They got a bridge. An island jail. A wharf named after people who use wharfs for a living. a crooked street, which is really just a path with pavement so they could get into the record books.
Oh.
And they have Jimmy Garapollo at QB.
He's dreamy.

But I do luvs me some SF.
I'm a Boston boy at heart, but San Fran is in the top 3 or 4.

In addition to the homeless problem, feces and hypodermic needles on the street, San Fran also has a problem with parrots. Before you know it, San Fran will be like Miami with all its chickens. LMAO! Guess there's more than one way to get sh*t on in San Fran!

Ain't true at all. I grow maters every fall and spring. Melons, corn and peppers in the hotter months. Iffn' it wasn't for a little frost in the winter I could grow maters eight months of the year.
