Hi bro!
I go through more than my share of Platinum. I know I've been through bottles of Fris over the years too.
Cathead is way better than either of those two, neither of which are suitable for much more than mixing with tonic...which is not a knock, but Cathead is martini quality at a minimum.

not to mention Cathead got da Blues goin' for it!

Malfy Gin & Tonic

Daughter brought this over on Monday, finally got a chance to try it. The lemon forward taste is quite interesting.

Starlite vodka from th Treaty Oak distillery in the Texas Hill Country. Heard they got out of the vodka business, which is a shame.

Had it on the rocks. Really interesting flavor. Very, very sweet on the front of the tongue. Almost flat out sugary. I'd love to know how they did that.

it's just tonic. i prefer the less sugar and stuff. it seems a little cleaner, evern really has quinine.
still can't justify the price but sometimes I splurge.

I settled in on White Rock tonic........sweetened with real cane sugar and has actual quinine.I like it......ALOT!!!It's even better with vodka and a twist.

I really don't think there's enough difference to justify the price. My go to is Burnett's.........bout $12-13 for a 1.75.It's a mixer.........what more could you want.I will spend a little more on gin but not a lot more.

discovered an inexpensive yet very smooth and tasty (if vodka can have a taste) vodka recently...

Wint & Lila. From Spain, in red clay or pottery looking vessel

neat, rocks, tiny bit of vermouth with jalapeno stuffed olives martini...haven't mixed with tonic yet cuz I feel it would get lost.

Yesterday

Hendricks G&T, then the central air took a crap and moved family dinner to my Aunt's house. She had Magellan Gin and made a G&T with it and really enjoyed it. Has a refreshingly different taste to it.

Glad to be of service. ThumpUp

And in reference to Frankie’s post, yeah, I think there are other expressions. Vaguely remember seeing two different colored labels when I picked ours up.

I went through a bottle, more like a brick red ceramic jug of W & L vodka from Spain.
Think I paid $18, haven't seen it since but would definitely buy again.
Never saw their gin though.

Roth Vodka. Derived from grapes I guess.

I don't have a palate that appreciates vodka, but it seems to do a job.

Working my way through a bottle of Hendricks as well. So far I rank what I have tried as

Hendricks
Magellan
Tangueray Rangpur
Bombay Sapphire
Wint and Lila

Tried Beefeater ages ago but don't remember much about it.

try floating a slice of cucumber in the Hendricks. It has that cuke essence and works better than an olive if you are drinking a martini.

Uncle Val's Botanical Gin

Didn't have Bristow or SipSmith so was either this or Boodles. Had Boodles in my hand and changed my mind last minute. Probably should have stuck with my first instinct as Uncle Val's was ok but has a similar floral note as the Magellan but I preferred the Magellan over this one.

if you like a sweeter gin, and would even consider drinking it on the rocks, try Haymans Old Tom.
very good straight, very good with tonic, not so good with vermouth/martini sytle. certainly does not go well with an olive.
around $25 here.

I will look for that one. I am normally a G&T person. I have found I like a variety of gin as long as it stands out in some aspect.

gin is often despised but I find it has quite an array of offerings...
I really like the Hayman's Old Tom, with tonic too, yet it is very different than say Hendricks for example.
