A while back scored a large batch of one of my old fav's, the Don Pepin Blues at a really good price. In the past these were great ROTT but this batch was in serious need of humi time. Tried a couple just a few weeks in and they were not good at all: harsh, a bit bitter and didn't burn well.
Fast forward 6 months and now they are like I remember them. Spicy, flavorful and a great burn. They must not be holding them as long or as lovingly before shipping them. Ah well, they are good now and lesson learned.

I think I bought mine about the same time. I didn’t try any ROTT. When I get back I might just have to crack open the box.

Ya, my last box wasn't all that great either ROTT (probably about 6 - 7 months ago). Tried one about a month ago, still wasn't there. Probably sit on the rest of it for a while see if it helps.

Well, you would be in the minority there...................and that's the great thing about cigars.
It would really suq if we all liked, and disliked, the same ones.

IIRC, Blues always needed long nap.
Been years since I have bought a DPG. I did enjoy JJ's.....they still decent?

I still have about 8 kinky Friedman's left sleeping...
They were great cigars after 1-2 yr naps...
Just like @ "OLLIES" ...once it's gone...they're gone...
A sad fact...sigh...

The ones I used to get way back when must have been stored longer and in good condition so they didn't need so much rest. But, have had two more from this batch and they are doing good so, going forward, if I buy more, just have to know they will not be for immediate consumption.
