oh well, must be them Californians still trying to buy their way into Mexicali. Gotta have something to give them people. I'd be sick bidding that much, and the bidder may know what he's doing. He just needs to visit CigarsInternational a few times so he can secure a good case of indigestion and bloats that always comes with finding the truth.. He would be sick I betcha, bad sick, after seeing what they can be bought for on that site.

I was gifted a box of Gurkha black dragons. I'm sure my son in law didn't pay $115,000 for it, LoL
The box is cool, cigars were decent as well. But a million bucks for a stick!!!!! For a Gurkha!!!!! I live in a sheltered cigar world I guess

Tatuaje Fausto Short Churchill (6.5"x48) Box of 25

EK of Boca Raton, FL
$353.50/ea

Little over half that on CI. I've won probably close to two dozen of these. IIRC, my highest winning bid was $106.

Boca folks can afford not to lose a bid. Heck it was only $150 or so over the CI price.

Like most Gurkha's the Black Dragon line can be good or not very good. I've smoked several of them and only found one to be good and it was very good. The rest were yard gars. Infused Gurkha's have yet to fall into the good category- Oliveros made a better cognac infused cigar.

Hi,
Just noticed a bid for a box Astlum Insidious Maduro 5.O+50 for 5000.00 dollars ,is that real ? You can get the same box on CI for 126.99. Is there any way you could cancel that bid , because that seems like a BIG MISTAKE.

CBID Order Cancellation Policy

All orders are final. If you must cancel an order prior to shipment, the order is handled as a return and you will be assessed a 15% re-stocking fee. Excessive cancellation may result in the revocation of bidding privileges.

Why do people over bid on items that you they can buy directly from CI for a cheaper price? Ex. the fall spook spectacular sampler has 2 bids at $85.00 each, they can buy it outright from CI for $79.95. I'm sure CI loves these guys but I don't get it, maybe I'm the stupid one.Brick wall

I check in to the forum every couple months and this is almost always a page 1 topic.

I only know of one "good" reason for bidding at or slightly over CI prices. I bid for cigars one week each month. Everything I win from Tuesday through Monday ships on Tuesday. I pay full shipping for one lot and reduced shipping for all the rest. If there's a lot I really want, I may bid up to the CI price knowing that the cost with shipping will be less than if I bought the lot with CI. As a matter of principle, I won't bid over the CI price no matter how much I might want the product, but that's just me.

Other reasons for overbidding include:

- Some people just hate to lose. Occasionally, you'll see two of these types go after the same lot and you just have to get the f*ck out of the way.

- Some people don't check CI. They just shop CBid.

- Some people make mistakes. They enter the wrong price and simply live with it.

- Some people just don't care about an extra $5 or $10 bucks in the overall scheme of things.

Bottom line is that some folks will overbid and my advice to you is to let 'em. They put extra money in CBid's pockets and are therefore doing a public service to the rest of us.
