It was brought to my attention by that most excellent BOTL Conan that 9/12 was a significant date in the painful travails of our great brother Mark Cary.

In honor and in memory, some of us silently saluted brother Numi and his family.

Tonight, I smoked the last Cohiba 2008 I owned, chased it with several quality drinks, among them was one drink from an inherited bottle of Old Forester 100 proof BIB Bourbon, made in 1956, bottled in 1960, uncorked tonight.

RIP Peyton, you will never know how much you affected so many in your short life and your brave battle.

Mark, if you read this, I have no words that can help, but you and yours are in my thoughts.

Frank

Speechless. Prayers are the only words.
The strong little man touched so many in such a short time. Hope all is well with Marc and family.

I spoke with Numi a couple of weeks ago. He was in good spirits but has been battling some health issues (mostly back related I think) since he and his wife were rear ended last year. They are also still battling the insurance company over the house fire for a couple of years ago. I will have to give him credit for being as upbeat and positive as he seemed to be.

Continued prayers for the Numi clan.

I talked to Numi on SnS last year and it was good to converse with him but I do remember thinking this family has the worst luck I may have ever seen. Hoping once the house fire stuff and health from the accident improve that they can finally have a year of peace and easiness we know they deserve it. Guy still keeps on pushing though as if nothing ever gets him down you are right about that.

Wow, it's been a year already. Numi pops up on Facebook occasionally, and from the pix he's posting, looks great.

I see Numi on FB from time to time. If that family hasn't had bad luck they had no luck. Seen him getting rid of some of his stash hope all is well

I've typed and erased and re-typed etc..... no words. Mark is one of those rare people who just makes your life better. He and his family have dealt with way more than anyone should have to and it doesn't change him. I'm a better person for having crossed paths with him. Where ever you are Mark I'm thinking of you..... I'm thinking about and sending good thoughts to all of you.

Just got a package of hot sauce a few days ago and tonight was texting back and forth with Jnic, so I decided to drop in on y'all.

I can only say that I definitely felt the love from this place, even if I haven't been on here much. I have a hard time getting on facebook during the months of September and the first part of October, I just try and keep busy at the farm, that didn't work out too well this year.

Peyton would've been 11 years old today, and he brought so much love and strength to so many around the world and especially in our small area of West TN.

You guys do and did him proud, for certain!

It means SO much to me and Mrs Numi. We found an extra family here, I do a bit on Instagram, but not even much of that for a few months. And, honestly, I don't have much desire to smoke cigars when it's SO hot outside, and I have never cared to smoke inside, even in shpos.

Thanks again for keeping his memory alive for ALL these years.

Honestly, I owe someone here a serious beating! tick tock, tick tock
