Just wondering how these are...and how they compare to the 2009 release when it first came out.

Actually the 1st release was in 2003. That year they took old man Fuente's favorite 858SG blend and added a rosado wrapper supplied by Oliva for the 1st time. They awarded a very limited amount to their top retailers only and were packaged in polished boxes of 50.

Think I still have a few iffn' you would like to try one.

Pretty sure 2002 was the first release.

Actually you are not wrong. It was very late 2002 when they shipped less than 100 boxes but most were not available until early 2003. Shops usually allocated them no more than 2/customer. I was lucky to get one full box of 50. Still have that box somewhere. Subsequent release was in a 20 count box IIRC and more were available in that release.

The owner of Cascade Cigars in Portland has one hidden away that she'll sell for the right price. But Jan won't say what that is......nice lady.

Rick, fo’ sure you’re an overly generous BOTL. But no, you were already generous to me a few years back so the 2009 Rosados are my *very special* smokes.

Additionally, I mis-spoke/typed and didn’t mean to imply that the 2009s were the first 8-5-8 Rosado release. Only used it as the baseline for comparison vs the new ones.

I’ve got 10 coming. Paid $11.95 each for them, which I didn’t think was too bad.

Smoked one yesterday. IIRC very close to being the same as the 2009 in taste when they were 1st released. About medium in strength with that sweet rosado wrapper making the 858 blend shine. Liked it more than any of the Magnum line with the exception of the R44 which still seems richer than the rest.

I'm going to have to pull out one from 2009 to see how they have aged to make any further comparison. Neither '18 or '09 have the quite the same wrapper as the original '03 which came from Oliva and was stronger.

I believe Fuente now supplies the rosado wrappers from their own farms but not sure of that. BTW, I paid under $9 each for these.

Conan, let me know if you can't find any and I'll make sure you get a few.

Thanks Rick. I was able to find some at, probably, the same place as Cobra. Letting them settle down but itching to spark one up.

There's also a Fuente smoker this Friday and crossing my fingers and toes that they might have some there too.

Yup haha my internet searches have brought that up.

Narrowed my search by including 2018 in the search bar. Found one place price gouging they have a 2018 box for $650 freaking jerkwads.

I have gotten 12 total with a box included!!!

Wow! That is totally nutso! OhMyGod

Even crazier if someone bought it for that price. d'oh!

Earlier I found a place that had them for $265-ish for a box and I thought that was a crazy price. I went back later and someone musta bought it ‘cause they said they were out of stock.

You and I musta bought from the same planet far, far away. Anxious

Yeah I was not impressed by the place gouging that badly.

There was a full box on eBay for $275. Auction ended without a purchase.

Yup I think we did, it was the only place I found selling them online, but they are out of stock now also.
