You addicted to carbs and sugar? The keto diet is just eating less than 30 grams a day of carbs and sugar, and more fatty foods like avocado.

Mornin' dudes.

You dang skippy. I am southern we are carbs and sugar.

Nah seriously, because of the fact I am a diabetic. My snacks consist of 30 grams max of carbs and that is 3 times a day. A meal for me has to consist of 60 grams 3x a day give or take a few grams. I am supposed to eat 6 times a day total. Breakfast, Snack,Lunch,Snack,Dinner, Snack. Now due to the fact I am not as active as I use to be I have cut the majority of the snacks out. Now the crappy part is on occasion I still hit low sugars from time to time but typically it is only when I am having a great day and feel up to being very active. If I were to eat less than 30 grams of carbs or sugars in a day, due to the diabetes they would probably find me in the floor in a coma before lunch time. If it was not for that then yep no problem. My A1C runs on average at 5.9 and they tell me that is not to bad at all considering. I would imagine if I did eat all the snacks I have been ordered to eat it would most likely be higher because I am not active enough to burn off that much carbs or sugar. So that is why I say I would not do the diet even if a Dr ordered me to cause that would tell me he/she dont know their arse from a gopher hole.Beer

Saturday fellas.

Busy night at work. I'm beat.

3 more to go.

Kinda want to go camping afterwards but with the kid in school now I can only go on weekends. I HATE camping on weekends. Too many people. Last campground we were at had 150ish sites, and after checkout on Sunday there were only 14 of us left. The entire state is booked every weekend through the end of the season except a few sites here and there. One campground has 450 sites, and about 20 spaces left right now. I want to go but don't think I want to go badly enough to camp with 450 other families.

Mornin'.

Spent 6 hours (of my vacation) at work Thursday preparing for promotion meeting with the chief. I'm only presenting one of my employees, but he's an exceptional employee so I needed to be there. This is my first go-round at this, so I needed to learn some things and I did. So now I'll be sitting here on a Saturday making this presentation better.

Chit, a 50/100 lb bag of salt is cheaper than a season of gas for mowing and it makes the yard look so nice with nothing but dirt.

Easy fix, Make the wife homeschool so the kid can be as ignorant as the rest of the world. Then you can go camping any time you want.

If it ain't broke, shoot it with a 50cal and leave it in the front yard so the neighbors will have something to biatch about! Herfing

Beer can chicken? Or carne asada nachos?

I'm thinking chicken. I've yet to do it, so I think I should.

Edit: Chicken it is... seasoned, beer can crammed in it's gut cavity... and cooking.

Interesting question Robert. Our police investigators used to be paid when "on call". You're not free... yet you're not working. You can't leave the area, and you can't indulge in adult beverages because you could be called in.

The county fought against it (and I actually agree with the county) and they no longer get paid. I think a compromise is in order though. Your "freedom" is restricted, but you're not working. An extra stipend when on call would not be out of order, IMO. Maybe $100 a day vs $55+ an hour.

That would be a better option, actually. Nothing if you don't get called... time and a half if you do.

I think you should be compensated in some way for being on-call. Maybe extra vacation days or some amount of pay...

I don't disagree, Robert. I'm all about "fair". Being paid for doing nothing is not fair, which is why I supported the county's position on taking that away.

But you are correct, in that some form of compensation should be provided for your restrictions. A daily per diem, time and a half for hours you get activated, vacation days... something fair.

I think we get $2.25/hr IIRC. Can request to use PTO hours for the shift as long as you're not called in.

They still basically own you for the 12 hour shift. Can't do anything but wait for the phone call. I've got my lunch packed and scrubs in the truck ready to go because I have an hour from call to clock.

Gonna go sit in the garage and watch TV or something. Can't drink, can't smoke, and can't make noise in the house while family's sleeping.

Why can't you smoke? Just don't want to risk having to throw it out?

We play cut throat now (no partners). 3rd and 4th place throw a cigar in. 1st place gets the choice of the two, 2nd gets the other.
