I've been getting some nice lots of 5 packs with traditional auctions but would like to get into the Free Fall action, but am not sure I completely understand the best strategy. Any advice would be welcome!

Thanks.

P.S. Beautiful out in NY today, planning on a 2 cigar session sitting by the pool this afternoon! Wife has a list of tasks for me -- hah!

The strategy is watch the price, figure out where it bottoms out. Then apply patience here......wait for that price to pop up again and buy.Or you could just say **** it and buy when you feel it's in your ballpark.Thats what I do........patience is not one of the virtues I was blessed with.

I usually check CI prices and use that as a guide

Actually I compare against a couple other sites that have better pricing than CI.

What sites do you use to compare prices? I have checked CI but found I can get better prices than CI at a small cigar shop close to home. I do like this site though. I "won" my first bid last week and got some Monticristos for about 4.80 a stick. Locally they are 11+.

Whistle can’t post up the competitor site names/URLs as that would be against CBid site rules. However, with that being said, Goggle can be your best friend when it comes to looking for cigar selling sites.

I don't waste my time watching for the unlikely good price on FreeFall.

Sickboy have you ever heard of Google

I'll leave the op for opel, but for stickboy, coming in here, green as a noob in a van by the river... obviously has a thing for phalic objects thus the name he gave himself. Obviously a well thought out name as his love for said phalic objects are as real as what he does with said phalic objects... therefore, I think for the first time in history a noob has came before us (and probably after us) with the a name worthy of keeping... therefore noob, we will honor your hard work and dedication to long firm objects and refer to you by your self given name. Welcome to the asylum stickboy.

I will tell you what i go by. if there are 0 buyers after a few days, then it's not worth it. if there are like 20 buyers, then it prolly dropped down to a good price at a certain point. u should pop it. good luck!

It may be a coincidence, but before the re-design of the cbid site, free falls were a waste of time. Now I often find that bidders are paying more in regular auctions than they could get the same item through free fall. I never thought I'd say this, but about half my purchases are through free falls. It's gotten so common that I've created a spreadsheet with the low free fall price per lot. Saves me a little time.
