Since most adults still call the "#" symbol the pound symbol, what were the folks that started the #metoo movement thinking?

WHAT MADE THEM THINK THEY COULD SHIP SOFA'S FOR "FREE"...without any repercussions to the normal shipping public...i.e. Xmas gift mailing to your grandkids...

I read it as "number" but on a keyboard or in programming it's a pound symbol.
