Ryder Cup: Spectator blinded in one eye says she could have died on golf course

"She is planning legal action against the organizers after being hit by the stray ball on Friday, saying course officials did not give adequate warnings."

You're standing on a golf course. What are the odds you could be hit by a golf ball? fog

My guess is her odds were lower than the odds of a girl getting groped at a party with drunk Georgetown preppers....but, yeah...she probably shoulda known of the risk

Can you believe the amount of damage that golf ball could cause?
Imagine it hitting you directly into your eyeball...

I imagine that we can all imagine, even the non-golfing, non-lawyering among us....question is....how come Ms. Remande, who just happens to be a golfer couldn't imagine that golf balls might be flying around the golf course?

The golf course will knock the case out of court by way of summary judgement.

I'm assuming it's still wedged in there. They could draw an eyeball on it.

I've always wondered why this doesn't happen more often...spectators get awfully close to the tee and to the golfers, especially at big tournaments...

Lots of trust.. but I'm surprised it doesn't happen more often also...
I was at a hockey game once and saw a kid about 8 yrs old take a puck in da mouf... It happened so damn fast it was scary.. he was sitting between his parents and they couldn't react fast enough.. I was about 20 ft away... Security ran down picked up the kid and started running with him.. no crying or nothing... Mellow
