Are you sure? I mean having another box just so you don't feel like you have to go easy on em is a great thing. Also an extra hat just in case the one you getting blows out the car window. You wont feel like you have to do a U turn and go back to pick it up. I mean that chit is dangerous and very stressful which is hazardous to life.

A Stress Free Life leads to a longer life! Hmm... Think I wonder if you could claim it on your medical insurance since it would be considered "Medical Prevention" If not, one more box and hat would still be well worth the extra time you get to add to your life from being stress free!

Use me as a good example, I was down to my last Ranflajo, I was worried about smoking it knowing it was my last. I really wanted to smoke it so I did. The stress of knowing it was my last as I was enjoying it, next thing I know my chest getting cracked open, Trippe by pass, Heart valve replacement, a stroke. Man If I had only had more I would not have been as stressed and I wouldn't have the issues I have now. Learn from my example brother. LMAOOO....

All the discussion on this made me pack the one I had in my travel humidor for camping this weekend. It was gifted to me by NWStogie. First real fall evening here and sitting at the camp fire by myself fired it up and paired with a Macallan 12. It was a very good smoke.

I’m glad you liked it, brother! That came from a box I bought right after I heard Matt Booth was “leaving” the cigar industry. (Yeah, right.) I got it for about $200 through a stacked coupon deal, which seemed like a great price back then. I went on a bit of a Room 101 buying jag at the time. I’m happily floored to see the prices so low, now. I snarfed up another box of the Chiefs and a MC3. Those Darima Gold Roxxos are an amazing 75-minute smoke. Since they are OOS, I’ve been tempted to get the Papi Chulos, now.

Booth and Caldwell are headed to my neck of the woods on 10/23. I need to save some coin for that event, so I must try to resist temptation. These events never really save me $ on cigars, even with the “special event pricing.” But the freebies are neat and getting to meet Matt and Robert would be cool.

Man that must be nice. Here all we get is RP and Gurkha events mostly and on occasion a DE event. Rocky or Johnathan never show up just the sales reps. A Boring Ass place I live in!

I actually have to drive about 45 min North to get to the event in Tacoma. At my local shpo, we only got the Caldwell rep.

I hear there’s a world-renowned pen maker in your neck of the woods, Buddy.

I would catch a taxi ride 45 min any day to meet Booth and Caldwell.

I dont know about the world renowned part. I dont even know about the pen part. More like sticks that make a mark. I guess you could call it a pen lol. I would love to get my hands on a cheap band saw. I really want to try my hands at making 10 inch ashtrays.

Alright, did what I said I was going to do, smoked one right off the truck.

Ordered me a box of Ranflajo shortly after.

You were right there Mittens, good smoke. I liked the SA/Citrus combination enough to buy me another box.

Great, what I bought barely fit, and I got another box coming :/

Had to move the filerokees to a different box to make them fit.

Next box is going to have to go in loose. I'm probably going to have to smoke more over the next 5 days or so to make room.

I was using an overflow cooler for a while there... then decided to only going to buy what I can fit inside my wineador.

Sucks when good deals come up and I have no room... like now for instance, I probably shouldn't have bought that second box of the Cool Arrows... I'm pretty sure I can't fit 20 of them.

Thank GOD! the deal is off......for now.
Just got my first boxes today..........very classy presentation indeed.
But holy chit, when I opened the MC3 Roxxos to check them out........the aroma, the look of the cigars, I went straight to my iPad to get more......but was able to resist, telling myself to wait until the deal is on again.....(while secretly hoping they sell out.......I simply don't need any more cigars!)
The Filerokees have a very unique aroma........................looking forward to trying one.

Thanks again Puddin....................I think....................ya put a big hole in my wallet!

I know what you mean. It's so tempting when it's on!

The (unlit) cigar's smell and its cold draw's taste is something I've never experienced in a cigar before. Orange chocolate, and other stuff I have no words for.

When smoking that Filerokee, "sip" it slowly, don't let too much heat build up, and retrohale if you can, the flavors are really something on the retrohale.

Nope, I do not. But when I see stuff this good on sale for 1/3rd the usual price, I spread the word.

Pretty sure I had no way to be sure. There were no smileys or other indications either way, so I had to go on tone of voice and body language.... oh wait, those don't exist here! Overall context indicated probable kidding, but just in case, I answered.

I got two boxes of the enormous 8x60 Chingonimos in today, gonna go open them soon and have a look, and a smell.

The Ranflas are wonderful. Keep it slow, and I think you'll like them!

I only bought my last 2 boxes while the hat-and-lighter deal was in effect. All the other boxes I bought before that deal. Which sucks because I could've had MANY more hats and lighters, not just two!

However I have only one head and tons of other hats I've collected over the years, and I have a silly-high number of Xikar lighters (all with the sweet lifetime warranty). So I really don't care about additional free tiny lighters with no warranty.

So... it doesn't bother me. Getting cigars THIS good for THIS cheap is what matters!

For something they supposedly only made 3,500 boxes of, they sure do have it on closeout sale for a long-ass time. It seems it's never-ending, and those sales are in addition to the sales of all other vendors for the last 2+ years!

Reminds me of the Bible story of Jesus multiplying the loaves of bread and the fish. They only made 3,500 boxes, but by some miracle, they can sell it perpetually and always have enough to meet demand, forever!

Odd, unless the production limit numbers aren't correct, or for some reason it sold so incredibly slowly that despite it being 2+ years later and one outlet spending many months blowing it out at 1/3rd the original price in what seems to be a never-ending sale, they still have some left somehow!

Eh.......ya might be on to something Mittens...
But, imho, most Room 101 cigars were over priced back in the day.
There are now a handful of Room 101 offerings that are very nice at $80/box.
But $200 a box? Not so much, and my guess is many felt the same way.

Yeah I never would have dropped the coin for one of these boxes at $250-$290. Lots of other cigars in that price range that are on my want list, I’m sure not taking anything away from these they are good cigars but just previously not on my radar. Saw the Johnny tobbaconauts and never pursued them after I saw the msrp. Put them or for instance the Chief at $80 per and viola I now have a second Coleman coolerador. Also we have bought what between all of us maybe 50-75 boxes of filerokee and Ranflajos maybe? I’m sure some non posters have lurked in the shadows and figured out where this deals at. Thanks to us they now have a warehouse full of 50-75 fewer boxes of each. If they only had 1000 boxes of each that’s a huge amount of tobacco to move.

FYI, for those of who you haven't gotten all you want of the Chief yet, all three vitolas are currently on sale with free shipping and a free bonus item, a triple-torch lighter. I never heard of the company before ("Visol"), but it has nice looks, appears to have a fuel-viewing window and hey, free is free.

99cobra2881 wrote:

Based solely on the irresponsibly-high number of boxes I bought personally, I can tell you with high confidence that your guess for this "all of us together total" is almost certainly too low. BigGrin

Ok even if this site added 400 boxes to their sales, they must have gotten a huge lot of these. Call me surprised they’re still sitting on these and still offering this deal.

PS The visol lighter is ok, got three with this deal a few months ago.

I could see the mb3 place buying, say, a 1000 boxes of these, maybe twice, or even 3 times that.
They were over priced initially. I can see where maybe only 1/2 of what was produced sold in the time period that they (Davidoff & Booth) thought they’d be gone..............Booth exits the cigar biz ( albeit temporarily)........... Davidoff wants to clear them out, so now these have to go.e
Who knows..........don’t really care.........both the Chief and MC3 Roxxo are fine smokes for the coin imo.

The mb3 place has been around quite a while, and probably has some solid contacts in the industry. They seem to scoop up decent “closeouts” quite regularly, and have become one of my go to vendors on my very, very short list.

Unlike, some other "limited" releases, "close-out" specials or "last-chance" offers that ALWAYS seem to be available, a least with this cigar we know that the "close-out" is legitimate.

Regardless of how many they had in storage somewhere (and it does look like there must have been a bunch of them) these old "Davidoff 101's" are not being made anymore and will pass away at some point.

Will be interesting to see if Matt resurrects the brand/blend at some point since he has said he owns them. I expect he probably will given the FDA regs on pre-existing blends that are on hold but still hanging over everybody's head. Now, will they really be the same or as good?

Ladies and gentlemen, Chief Cool Arrow has left the building!

Finally sold out of all vitolas at the MB3 place. But it was a glorious deep-discounted run while it lasted, on one heck of a top-notch stick!

A moment of silence, please, in rememberance. Herfing

For those of you who backed the truck up and bought lots of them like I did, let the aging continue! Woohoo! I'll be smoking the Chief for many years to come!

They were worth the price I paid, but no more than that.

My first CCA came from Cereal City (Ken) on here in a trade. Let it sit for two months, then tried it. God-like experience. Ordered a box from another site for $224. Still kicking my chins for that one (versus waiting for the sale), but couldn't pass up. I love them.
