IDK....seems I saw video of a fairly serious skirmish on Mexican border the other day....at least one death, IIRC...usually tough to ever catch him in an outright lie, so I'd bet there is some truth to it


edit....google keeps taking me to wsj stories and video, which pizzes me off because they charge for everything now....I'll keep looking

It isn't what he described, but given our presidents inability to process information, maybe that is what he was referring to.....

So not a flat out lie but a twisting of the truth to serve his own purpose?

The caravan on Friday was stopped/slowed by Mexican police at a bridge between Mexico and Guatemala. During this time some sort of skirmish between police and caravaners broke out. Tear gas was used.

Some police and some caravaners we're injured. The caravan remained on the bridge.

That is not "soldiers". That is not "tough fighters". That's no different than a protest in the US these days. The caravan didn't overrun anyone, or "break through", they were kept at the border until they were processed.

I am being generous when I say he "twisted the truth". Just as I'm being generous when I say "z adds something to a conversation".

Just a third party opinion here...

Z is a way better sh*t talker than you. Your sh*t talking skills are adequate for these boards, and admittedly are better than huck's, but you're not on Z's level of throwing out insults.

I appreciate the effort... watching you and Z go back and forth can be amusing at times.

I agreed some injuries (6 police injured... )
Caravan stopped and was then processed normally. So NOT overrun.

So yes... A fabrication.
His tweet stated that the caravan fought with the Mexican military, that they "broke through" and the military suffered injuries and could not stop the caravan..
That is a fabrication. Not as bad.of one as I had thought initially, but still a fully fabricated statement.

This isn't sh&t talking. There are some individuals who you simply shouldn't interact with. Even negative interaction with them gives them a validation which they didn't have.

It's like allowing a flat earther to present their ideas at a scientific conference. Even though everyone there knows their full of sh&t, they still come away ahead.

You may want to watch it, but the truth is that even failing miserably at a scientific conference gives them more credibility than they had before.

This is why scientists and science advocates who do those formal debates with flat earthers or creationists are criticized. It gives the wackos credibility with the group that already believes their crap and makes no impact on the people who already realize they're idiots.

They win even if they lose... Like a guaranteed participation trophy.

Because the goal of scientific conferences isn't to "sit back and enjoy the show"? It's to disseminate scientific information between scientists.....

Having someone present completely unsound scientific ideas has as much place there as a professional wrestling match. It may entertain some but doesn't further the purpose of the conference.

And yes, it lends credibility to those with flawed brains. I suppose you don't care about that part, because as you said, you can't fix stupid... But there is no need to let these people out of the margins.
