Helicopter couldn't fly due to bad weather.. 50 mile drive without a preplanned security evaluation was a bad idea.. but he's a deadbeat.. got it.. Mellow

Not so sure why anyone would be outraged or say bad Trump. Helicopter was grounded. Motorcade would have made a mess of Paris traffic. An unplanned unsecured travel route for our president is unacceptable. Simple as that.

Must not have been raining on any of the other leaders -whoops, make that all the other leaders - who attended. Damn that dark cloud that seems to follow the President wherever he goes!

"President Trump did not visit a World War I cemetery in northern France this weekend because his motorcade would have disrupted traffic in Paris and nearby suburbs for hours, an administration official told Fox News Sunday."

We should be thankful for having a thoughtful president who is respectful of Parisians' Saturday commutes.
Besides, who here hasn't once said, "Why should I deal with crowds, traffic and weather, when I can just watch it on TV?"

There's always a weather contingency plan. Did troops in the trenches skip out on their duty? No! He had one job to do and he failed at doing it. He's not deadbeat; he's a POS. ram27bat

Pretty sure a POS would be someone standing on soldiers graves to score politics points at a memorial service.....but hey that’s just me.

Stay focused guys, this thread was never about true concern for possible disrespect for WW I veterans. Just another opportunity to bash President Trump.

Carry on.

OK, inclement weather grounded the chopper, and a desire to be mindful of local traffic disruptions was put out there to explain his absence....plausible.... but why not walk with all the other leaders down the Champs Alysees to the Arc de Triomph?

Then, on Veteran's Day, back home... WH didn't bother with an explanation for the President not making a visit to Arlington on Veteran's Day, a holiday when traffic is usually light and the weather was clear. It's like Trump doesn't even want to bother with any of the pomp and circumstance associated with the military that historically were an important part of the job of POTUS...

any honest con, to whom respect for the military is a primary form of patriotism, would admit that if Obama did either of these, let alone all of them, there would be exploding heads everywhere...

The military parade would have been nice Drafter. They look so impressive when Russia, China, and North Korea do them.
