Trump has stated on multiple occasions that he wants Pelosi as Speaker, and would even provide Republican votes if needed. Makes one wonder if Trump has some extremely damaging dirt on Pelosi.

The more I hear about Pelosi winning the Speaker nod, the more I laugh.

Just a couple weeks ago we heard about the NEW Democratic party being led by fresh ideas and throwing out the old regime.

Pelosi supports "PAYGO." How's that for a fresh idea? Showing the voters how you're more fiscally repsonsible than the Republicans. That will get Democratic voters off the couch in 2020. Ha!

I think the truth is that her job is to roadblock any legistlation that would actually benefit Americans.

She has probably gotten more Republicans elected to office than anyone else in history. She should just change parties already and stop with the charades. Unfortunately, the two-party dichotomy is the charade.

Not certain what most important functions/roles are for the Speaker, outside of providing evening news sound bites.

I was curious about this after the Pelosi redux, so I looked it up.

Apparently, the Speaker is third in line to be President if something happens to the POTUS and VP.

Speaker does a lot of ticky tack stuff with oaths and committees, etc….but what I found interesting was the Speaker also determines the House legislative agenda, and which legislation reaches the House floor for a vote.

I was under the impression that any member of Congress could introduce legislation for a vote, but I guess that's not the case. It seems to be a pretty powerful position to be in. Whoever has the Speaker’s ear seems to have a lot of say as to what happens legislatively in our government.

I wonder who has Pelosi's ear? Think
