The epic questions... How big is it? What is too big or small?

I am talking about your cigar collection... I know it is not a collection because we smoke them but I am not sure of a another word to use.

Three Questions:
1. How many cigars? You can add details like brands/types?
2. How do you track your cigars? Spreadsheet/app?
3. How do you store them? Wood humidor/coolider/binds?

1. 489 Cigars / 45 Different Brands / 130 different Series/Shapes
2. I use an app called Aficionado which works for me. Not as user friendly but it easier than a spreadsheet. I have it on my phone and can check on the fly....
3. I use wood humidor and cooler. Still learning on what works best for me.

I had 1,600-1,800 now paired down to probably 400. Brands? Still too many....that’s why I paired down to stick with JUST what I enjoy regularly.

Track them? LMAO.....I have cigars to relax, I’m not a CPA.

Wooden wines for, 6’x3’x3’ beads.

My wife says “too many”.
I have a few cigars.
A few years back, I did a purge of my cigars. I passed along all of the lower end ones (my beginner cigars) and have now just kept the better ones. It might be a little snobby but pretty much premium and better.
I have delved into acquiring Cubans and have a decent supply of them.
Still trying new ones when I can.

I once did the spreadsheet thing. I also took down tasting and smoking notes on every different cigar I smoked. Lasted maybe a month before it became too much like work, so I deleted everything. Now I just put a sticker on them with the date sometimes.

Probably around 200-250. Rarely smoke anymore so I purged everything I didn't care for, or were just yard gars.

I know what I have in my head, and where they're located. When I was actively trading and stuff, I'd label things I received so I know when and from whom I got it.

Store em in cedar lined Pelican case and one nice desktop humidor.

1. Probably too many to smoke in this lifetime. Well over 1,200, I’d guess 75% NCs, 25% Cubans. I will, at some time in a next 2-3 years, do a massive inventory thinning.
2. Still keep a spreadsheet of what I buy and receive. When I first got into premium cigars, knew exactly where each one was stored. Then as I went from one cooler to three, it was w-a-y too time consuming. Not nearly as OCD about what / when I smoke and any thoughts about them.
3. Coolers, wooden humidors as well as Tupperware. Beads and Bovedas.

At one point I had around 1,500. Since I Should not smoke anymore ( although I occasionally sneak a Robusto), I am now down to around 700. of my favorites. Actually have been giving some away and have lost a few bet recently (TG is smoking very well) that helped deplete my stash. My son in law & nephews having been smoking well above their pay grade.

Store them in a cabinet humi.
Never tracked them.
Smoked all brands.

1. 10 or so
2. I just keep a journal no need for a spread sheet when I can just open the humidor and see in a single glance.
3. wood desk top humi

Back to the OP:

1. Too many to count. Majority over 5 years old and lots of OR. Lots of different brands.
2. No inventory. What's the fun in knowing what you have? Nice finding something I forgot I had! fog
3. Two Aristocrat humidors, couple a cooladors, a few desktop humidors, etc. Shame on you

1. 1450 +/- and growing. Wife no longer comments on quantity, as she’s got her own collections and gets my cigar obsession. I have a mix of yard gars that I like and nicer stuff. I tend to save the nicer stuff that I buy for trades, then smoke any nicer stuff I get in return, along with my yard gars. I have Coobans, but rarely smoke them unless I get them in trade. I tend to buy them through FB groups. Never bought them online from a retailer.
2. I used to use Afficianado. Too much erroneous info in the cigar lookup. Got tired of having to enter in large acquisitions into it. Phones are great for on the fly, but suck for mass data entry. Also got tired of sending in update requests for stuff not found in the lookup. (Daniel is quick to add and respond and update, however.) I moved everything to a spreadsheet, which is easy to access on my phone or PC through Dropbox. I don’t track which humi has which cigar. I sticker them all with their acquisition dates, so I can match the cigar to the spreadsheet entry when I’m taking it out of inventory. I don’t use the spreadsheet to pick cigars to smoke. I like to rifle through the wineadores and get surprised. The wineadores tend to have samples of all cigar types. The totes are for box storage, trays of loose cigars and for restocking the wineadores.
3. Two wineadores with custom shelves added and 4 ziplock sealed storage totes. I use a mix of beads and KL. Just started using KL in the spring. Seems to work just fine. After several years using a variety of well-rated digital hygrometers/thermometers, I switched to Boveda smart sensors. I can geek out and check all 6 from work if I get the urge. Everything is pretty stable at 65-67%.

What’s your ambient humidity like? Do you find you have to dry out your beads or Bovedas?

At one time around 3,000. Today probably under 1,000. I do know that I have 2 less today, then I had yesterday, and 3 less yesterday then the day before, etc.

1. About 400 or so (haven't counted them, just a guess).
2. I just throw new ones in where ever they'll fit... I just find holes and fill them (I know, dirty right?).
3. Wineador - used to have an overflow, but now I only buy as necessary to keep the wineador full.

Only 2 things that mean you went crazy...

1) spending money you shouldn't
2) looking at your stash, and realizing there's 300+ cigars you're never gonna smoke

1) about 900
2)a Virtual Humidor on a "Geeky" cigar website (I've been slacking a bit lately on the entries....it's an adventure, not a job) LoL
3)I have 2 150qt marine coolers and a 48qt Igloo cooler...I use KL and Bovedas...they pretty much hold steady at 65-67%...I haven't had to refresh the KL in months

I try to label them with dates so I can use the date to correctly remove them from inventory as they get smoked

1,300 - 1,500 (?... prolly more)....wide variety of brands, shapes and sizes

somewhat organized by container: high end boxes in largest tupperdor, "walking sticks" and everyday smokes in two smaller tupperdors: super premiums in other two smaller tupperdors; high-ends in 150 ct humidor in man cave; grab-bag 50 ct for guests who aren't serious cigar smokers and "candy box" 25 ct for girls or guys who like sweetened infused stuff; alphabetic order in the top drawer and shelves of the end table humidor - boxes on bottom shelf, loose cigars in top drawer and in trays of two middle shelves of the end table humidor...no system to track individual smokes, tho I have written contents on labels affixed to boxes in which I've stored different cigars...

large tupperdor container with 6 lid snaps; 4 smaller 4 snap lid tupperdors; end table humidor w/1,000 ct capacity; 150 ct tabletop; 50 ct tabletop; and 25 ct tabletop, all purchased in reverse order...I do NOT plan to buy any more containers...

Too damn many this last deal at the other place for 5 boxes of the Chief Cool Arrow and I started bidding at the other place have made for a stupid amount of smokes on hand. Then throw in me being a Fuente-ho and the re-release of the 8-5-8 rosado sungrown and add in a 10er of R44s.... won’t even mention the Tatuajes..... so yeah are you starting to smell what I’m stepping in? Too damn many.

Plus I saw the Xikar XO cutter and broke my pledge to only buy cheap cutters. Damn it’s cool though. I got brushed aluminum w black nitrided blades version. It looks as good as it cuts!

I like how you organize your coolers, makes great sense. Will make it a project of mine to re-organize when I retire.

After reading most of the replies, I am not worthy, but I'll answer the question to balance things a bit.

I buy what I intend to smoke. All cigars get a minimum of 2 weeks of rest in the humidors/coolers before I bother them. I only "save" a supply of LFD Andalusian Bulls. The rest are going to be smoked within a 2 month period. As a result, I seldom have more than 100 cigars on hand at any point in time, and usually more like 60.

Not enough. I will never have enough.

I have two 28 bottle wine fridge humidors and a 100 count desktop humidor. At one time, all of those were full plus I had two 48 qt Coleman coolers that were also full. Down to just the 2 wine fridges and the desktop.

3. How do you store them? Wood humidor/coolider/binds? In humidors- ie; tubs/coolers. 65/65 pretty much year round.
