Just a Thanksgiving get together with the cubs. We all bring a couple of bottles and share. Added bonus for me is that I also bring the beer and cigars and we share.

I ran across a bottle of William Larue Weller in Vegas........$450 IIRC and I was tempted.

Weller 12 was $120 I believe.......Homer jumped on it after Chris guilted him about not owning a bottle.LOL

The William Larue belongs to my youngest and he paid MSRP a couple of weeks ago during the AL state wide release. He did stand in line/camp out for approximately 20 hours to get it. He was #20 out of the 100 numbers they issued that Mon morning at the store where he was. The few bottles of Pappy that were available were gone by the time he was allowed in. His take was the William Larue, EC 18, Blanton's and ETL. I think he had around $350 in the four bottles. I do know that the EC 18 was $120 and the ETL was $38.

I did enjoy my sampling of the William Larue this weekend but don't know that it was worth 20 hours in line and totally sure it is not worth $450.

Yea I heard the conversation.......(Chris)"Homer I thought you were an optometrist ........how can you not see the value in this bottle?" "All the other eye doctors on the island have a bottle".

Homer just sighed and grabbed that bottle too.

I paid 90-100 last year for WLW. It’s good, it’s great. It’s not worth $450 unless you wipe with 100s and 450 is no dent in your fun money. I don’t think I’ve found anything I’d pay 450 for.

Late edit- **** the big liquor store in town has them marked up to 150 for their lottery this year.

Damn you are batting zero today.I actually wear glasses to see distant,I flip them up to read.My optometrist has tried for years to put a clear bifocal in my glasses......NO.As long as I have perfect near sighted vision I'll stick with my single vision lenses.

Funniest thing around our house is wifey looking for hers to read something and me looking for mine in the last place I read.Happens multiple times daily.

I snagged some of their 17 yr stuff back in the day, but the label said it was from the Macallan distillery (for Kirkland). One of the best whiskies I have tried.
