The GOP led US Senate approved a measure to cut off military support for the Saudi War against Yemen. Some GOP senators said it was due to the Saudi Crown Prince's ordering of the killing of Kashoggi, a journalist who was critical of the Saudi regime, in their embassy in Turkey.

This is in opposition to Trump's continued support of the Saudis and the Crown Prince.

Does this signal that the GOP Senate will be more critical of the President moving forward?

Why does Trump overlook the obvious regarding the Crown Prince's involvement in state sanctioned assassination?

there should have been at least an analysis of the war against Yemen in the first place, and the Qatar blockade too.

Why is Trump so protective of the Saudis? His rationale about the value of weapons sales to the Saudis and resultant employment in the US has been roundly debunked.

Why are some GOP Senators deciding to vocally oppose Trump now...

maybe if Obama owned big hotels in DC and NY where the Saudis stay and spend plenty of money, he woulda cut them slack, like Trump does...

BS... no ring kissing...funny how over the top the spokesperson on Fox was explaining how subservient the bow looked ...prolly just as over the top as the reaction on the left was toward Bush actually kissing the Saudi king and holding his hand...

cons views towards Saudi Arabia has shifted from one extreme to another over the years...understandably when we needed them for oil and to maintain a stable world oil market...but we've become oil independent, so why continue to tolerate their flaunting of American values?

Interesting read, Jamie. Seems there was some "nuance" played by Obama towards the evil Kingdom, rooted in policy objectives in the region, trying to get them to help with our priorities in the ME....like fighting terrorism, containing Iran...but Obama called them out on occasion and didn't do their bidding as Trump seems willing to do...and for which some GOP Senators are now criticizing him...Trump's reason for his approach (weapons contracts) has been challenged as an exaggeration, and supplying arms to the kingdom is not considered a good idea when their use of our weaponry is causing more volatility in the ME..

I’m no fan of their, he was a very shrewd leader in some ways but arms sales are arms sales and he did plenty.
