When Al and I met at Marty's, there were a few boxes of cigars on the counter that I'd never seen or heard of previously, illusione one off.. I'm a big fan of illusione, so when the guy said these were "nothing like other illusiones" I should've passed... Instead I talked Al into getting one...

Sorry Al... At least in terms of the one I had, it was 2/3 awful... First third actually wasn't bad...Then it went out, and then continued to go out every 10 minutes or so... The tightrope between over-drawing to keep the thing lit and under-drawing to prevent it from getting harsh was thin as a spiders silk... Kinda reminded me why I don't try new cigars often...

But right now, I'm at the shop I was at last night and discovered Tatuaje nuevitas jibaro... Never noticed them before but apparently this place just opened their second box... Half way through and I'm a big fan...

I liked the Nuevitas Esteli more than the Jibaro, I would definitely grab one of those if they have them.

one off is a reclaimed name.
Pretty sure fiddler has smoked some, see what he says...he's an elitist you know.

Thanks for the heads up, Joel. Maybe the cigar was too moist...I'll let it sit for awhile and prolly dry-box it for a day or two, before firing it up. Nothing ventured...nothing gained...and Illusiones are usually pretty safe/reliably good...

the Fume D Amour church I had at the shpo was pretty good...looking around for some...better than the PC vitola I have...

One thing I did notice when we grabbed them, there were a few options in the $15 range and one that was $30... Wonder if that more expensive one is significantly better...

Fiddler sent me one, he said that they need rest but he did post a photo of him smoking one last week and he was enjoying it.....

You gotta remember with the FDA thing, manufactures RUSHED new stuff out for awhile. The bigger vitolas are better in Fume d’amour IMO and I usually go for PC to CG for preference.

Revisited each a couple more times... Not a fan of the esteli after all... Really like the Jibaro #2... Love the shag foot...

I only tried one of each, maybe I should revisit.

On to another new one tonight.... LFD La Volcada... The local has way more boxes than shelf space, so occasionally half a box of something good stops selling and disappears for awhile... Such was the case with this box of volcadas... It's good... Fuente Anejo good... I'm a big fan...

I liked that one to but I wish it was a robusto type size.
