I understand they are a "Cuban" sandwich at a reduced price. Has anyone had a great experience with these offerings at that reduced price?

Should be great. Ham and cheese is a great combination.

I shop around to find a good deal, then I smoke good cigars. I don’t buy cheap **** to smoke. I don’t have to or need to smoke a cigar, it’s the enjoyment of smoking a fine cigar that makes me look forward to my next cigar.
If I smoked 3-4 cigars per day then maybe I’d buy cheaper cigars but that’s not going to happen any time soon.

Have not had one, but have heard enough, from budget cigar experts, to avoid them.
My guess is there wont be many "great experiences" shared here regarding short filler cigars, with the exception of the DE Papas Fritas.

Schizo Maduro is a great short filler and a 1/3 the price of Papas Fritas but do not like the constant pieces of tobacco ending up in my mouth.

Very few even reach yar gar status, but I did manage to find one that was fairly good.

.
Only one I ever had that was worth a damn was the short-lived Pinar Del Rio Fumas, before they disappeared.
I think I paid 65 cents a stick, and they were very good! Tasty as heck, and construction was decent too.
I was upset when I found they'd been discontinued.

They are like any other cigar. Try some. If you enjoy them, smoke them. The only palate that smoke has to please is yours.

La Vieja Habana and Chillin' Moose are mixed filler cigars and are well constructed. From my experience, smaller ring gauges perform better (less likely to burn hot, get squishy, etc.).

I smoked a handful of the tabaco Baez(?) back in the day and found them surprisingly good for what they are...

And they sure are better than any Gurkha I have ever tried...

If you like La Aurora, try their Leoninos.
