How long do you watch a freefall

I'm watching a few free falls and it appears the re-set happens within a $ 2 - $ 3 range. Is there a general guideline as to how long to watch one of these things to see what the bottom is? All advice is appreciated!

Thanks.

Just wait till the price goes into "good price" territory and then buy it. It is not worth driving yourself crazy just to save a buck or two.

Typically, there's about a 3-4 dollar range that you will see as the lowest amount prior to resetting. That seems to be what you have noticed. The amount of time it takes for the lowest number to hit is under ten minutes. I normally watch it a few times, find the lowest amount and wait for the number just prior to the lowest, check the box to approve the purchase and then, BE READY!!!!! If your internet is slow, you might get the reset price, basically the highest price. It can be tricky, but that's how it works.

Thanks -- I use a little memo pad on my computer to track the prices occasionally over the period of a few hours to get a feel for the lowest price and make a note of it. I will be careful when triggering -- don't want to get caught with the high price! Agree it makes no sense to get crazy about it. The other question is whether it's actually going to be a better price than the normal auction -- part of what makes this website so insidiously addictive.

Rarely....with the exception of overbid lots.
Unless FF has changed (downward) dramatically in recent years.

About 5-6 years back I was buying hundreds of DPG’ blues and blacks using freefall. I found a browser snapin that would track it. Once it figured out the low price it was easy to see the pattern just before it would fall to it’s lowest point. If I had to guess, I bought around 1500 at ~ $3.20 - $3.50 per. Haven’t seen them here in years though. I’m guessing they became victims of MAP.

I was picking them up for 50-75% of the lowest bid lot prices at the time.

FF has changed in one regard that I've noticed.
The amount, in terms of percentage, the price will drop.

In the olden days, before the web overhaul, when only 60-100 or so items were on FF, the price generally dropped about 25-30% from the start........and that was that.

Now, I've seen price drops of over 60%.
I'm not even really shopping on FF at all, but just looking at the Sobremesa Short Torp, it dropped to 37.09 for a tenski, cheaper than any auction price here that I've seen, by a fair margin, from a starting price of over $90.

They probably just increased the start prices on everything to make the deals seem better.d'oh!

Still, as far as the Sobremesa Short Torps go, FF appears to be the best option, like it was for the Jaime Garcia Robusto back in the day. My guess is there's probably several other decent cigars that will show their best price here on FF, given that they now often have 700+ offerings.

You can make it reset over and over. Just leave the page and flip right back to it. Every time you do this the price starts out LOWER!!!

I've found that the cigars I bid on, FF, if you're patient, usually within a buck or two of the final auction price on comparable lots.

Just a quick update, I got my freefall deal at the $38+ change, with a $45 shipped total for a Xikar Verano flat flame lighter. The current one up fr bid is at $53.50!!! I definitely got a deal based one the recent prices paid at auction. As well, I bought it on Christmas night and I got it on the same Saturday!!! Cbid has got any shipping problems fixed!

Depends on how far the fall is. I typically watch until it hits bottom, but if it's a long fall I may get bored and walk away.
