Can either of you guys enlighten me as to the Jewish tradition of eating Chinese food on Christmas ?
Just curious.

What else is there to do? Where else is open?
That's it. Nothing more to it except that Jews find irony in this.
It's like National Jews Eat Chinese Food Day.

The Mexican food places are open, and moderately attended on Christmas eve, which found interesting.

The Chinese places do big business in GB as well. The Jewish community (2) can't keep them all afloat.

McDonald's for breakfast... Wish I'd skipped breakfast...

packed day... Gotta assemble a Barbie dream house, break out the candy chemistry sets, figure out the magic trick kit, move the fridge to make way for the new one, disconnect old dishwasher, dryer, washing machine, oven, and stove top and then install the new ones from the in laws... You're not in California today by any chance, are you danm?

pretty much...Jewish Christmas= Chinese food and a movie cuz everything else was closed.

however, the movie we wanted to see was sold out at noon for the 1:30 show!!! I told my wife that there couldn't be that many Jews in that town so we must be embarking on The Age of the Jew Wannabees.

That and we really haven't eaten old school Chinese food for decades..it's usually Vietnamese, Thai, etc. these days.
Maybe it's now Reform Jew Christmas?

It's hard to keep up with these religious changes.

Congrats. Not every man gets the gift of his dreamhouse on Christmas.

Where do the Pastafarians eat ? I think the Chinese thing got popular after "A Christmas Story" was released.

Merry Belated Christmas everyone, been busy lately, haven't had time to check the boards.

I'm sure some see that as a good thing :)

A couple of them were saying mean things about you, but I waived my fist menacingly at them and they ran away.

Doesn't look like I'm sleeping today. Snoozed for about an hour this morning and just been sitting here awake since then.

Be careful when you swap the washer. A lot of times the connections become corroded so bad it’s next to impossible to unscrew the old hoses. Use too much torque and you may spring a leak that requires a plumber.

No one's gonna ask Opel why he got a new wife? Or why she's staying in the garage?

Come to think of it, Fridays are really good in retirement along with Mondays.

Grilled orange roughy, Asian slaw and baked sweet potato fries last night for dinner.

Probably prepare shrimp taco's tonight.
