A new label my sister laid on me tonite,Not Safe for Speaker Phone.Well duhhhhh any of you that have had a phone conversation with me know that.......and this was my SISTER.Apparently when she answered the phone, her in-laws and her were all in the kitchen.I was informing her that her husbands little Schitbird nephew had been picked up again for shoplifting.I went on to explain that the better part of this little **** er had run down his Momma's leg..........here's where she finally gets me off speaker phone and herself out of the kitchen to inform me that she has guest.......little schitbirds grandparents.I'm guessing their daughter had not informed them of the most recent events .........and they had never heard their grandson described in such explicit detail.Oh well we weren't really friends anyway and no,I am not speaker phone friendly.

Those that answer in speaker phone mode do so at their own risk, IMO.

Agree ...to a degree. However, I also think it is imperative that anyone using a speaker phone MUST inform the person on the other end of whomever else in the room might/could hear. I think I have a reasonable expectation that, unless I'm calling from jail (or maybe my last name is Flynn), that I am talking to one person only.

Calling from jail, you're still talking to one person... but we're recording the conversation. One is forewarned of this... and yet they still say criminal stuff. We don't catch the smart ones.

I am currently breaking my wife of this habit. When she is out and about and if I should call she answers in speaker phone. Me being my typical self it is within about a minute I get the "Shut up you are on speaker phone" Of course that is when I get louder and start saying things like, Baby, you got that puss all washed up for me, cause when you get home I am going to dive in that thing like there is no tomorrow.....

Ever hear a woman dropping the phone struggling to hit the mute button in Walmart at he check out line.

The one time she came home actually pissed at me for it was when I did that while she was in the check out line and this young hot looking cashier looked at her and smiled from ear to ear. Drool Not to toot my own horn but, my deep southern accent, my wife and I both have been told on many occasions by other women that it is a panty dropper.
I so love people.

I can hear better with the speaker on my cellphone. I tell them, but most people that call me know. Not in public places though.

Using a speaker phone can be a power play/intimidation tactic in the workplace when it really is not a conference call. I found it the perfect time to mention something embarrassing for other person. OTOH, a small Dixie cup with the bottom cut out and held on the mouthpiece can make you sound like you are on a speaker phone, so I've heard.

Hey Ron, can I patch you in on the next business conference call I have? I'd love to have you tell your ladyboy story again.

I drop a chit ton of f-bombs, so most people do not put me on speaker phone.

however, if using speaker phone when answering a call, typically I open by saying "you're on the air and the room is full".

That is part of how I answer the call.

"This is Russ on speaker phone with Juan and Park in the room, go ahead."

If they want to overshare, it's on them. Although it is embarrassing when the nurse from the doctors office doesn't hear the disclaimer and asks to schedule yet another pen-is reduction surgery.

A surgeon can't work on themselves.

Well hell I'll just share it here.TG and myself are down on Bugis(Boogie)Street in Singapore. The Gerb has hooked up with quite a looker.I sit at the bar carrying on casual conversation with the ladies???while the Gerb and his honey are getting hot-n-heavy on the couch. All the sudden I hear the Gerb say "that's incredible, your d1ck is bigger than mine".Next thing ya know the Gerb and his new friend disappear upstairs for an hour or so.Later when I asked the Gerb what went on upstairs he just winked and said "gentleman do not kiss and tell".He's going to have to fill you in on the rest of the details.
