Can't give a honest opinion. Tasted buds are currently yuck-ed due to cigars smoked in last couple of days or coming down with the crud. The 10 does seem to be fuller bodied than the original.

Sorry, no help.

Interesting. Apparently so does BevMart on Date Street but not Tamura’s or Fujioka’s.

Maybe I didn’t look hard enough? Think

My group is planning a barrel at some point soon. I’m having trouble scheduling picks, too much TDY next year. We’ve been talking to them for a while. I’ve heard great things but haven’t had a chance to buy yet.

Just realized that is now this year.....

Shaun, I revisited yesterday and would have to say that the 10 yo definitely has more body and pronounced flavor.

If one is a Basil Hayden fan, I don't think they will be disappointed with the 10 yo.

Drinking some WHISTLEPIG STRAIGHT RYE 10 YR. Anyone have any thoughts on other Whistlepig stuff. I feel like I've had better in a much more affordable price range.

I never tried any of the old worlds I’m getting pretty sick of wine barrel finishes. The regular WP wasn’t my favorite but I’ve tried some Canada and MGP WP store picks that have been great at cask strength. The 15 year old one was good blind by itself but it didn’t stack up in a different blind tasting against a bunch of cask strength mgp rye. Proof so low it just didn’t register in comparison. I also bought the bottle for 40% off. Msrp of 200 or 180 or whatever it was would be way too high.

Thanks for the input fellas I'll be on the lookout for a few things. I'm with you it just isn't drinking like the MSRP would suggest.

Thanks Burner, see mixed reviews online but really like Basil and was curious. Still waiting on it to show locally but we are generally a couple months behind everyone else.

Ron, I'm not a fan of M/Mark but concur with your assessment. The Cask Strength is their best offering by far.

Dan and Frank, y’all are killing me. Sounds as if AA is next up on the purchase list.

Well, my eldest twin is about to head to Europe for a month long walkabout and is supposed to bring me back something I can’t buy here, so it’s up next after...
