Man United v Brighton on the deck with coffee and a cigar. Unfortunately need to do some work today, as well. One boy in Amsterdam, the other in Atlantic City. Mrs Monkey horse showing despite the weather.

Opened the garage to go out and start the truck. Knee high drifts against garage and truck, and big snow plow pile at the end of driveway.

Had to shovel. It'll all blow back by the time we get home

Getting the bathroom floors and the stairs redone. Guy came to take measurements... waiting on the quote.

Meanwhile, I figured I would make some pork belly burnt ends. Drool

Three campers at the show that we really liked. Two were right at 30k, the favorite was 40, so that one's out.

Forest River Impression 28BHS http://www.forestriverinc.com/product-details.aspx?LineID=505&ModelID=3756#Main

Prime Time Crusader 30BH https://www.generalrv.com/product-prime-time-rv/crusader-lite-fifth-wheel/30bh

Really tempted to bring the checkbook for the next show in 3 weeks.

So, less politics, more campering.

My dad is a wizard at scouring the net for used campers. Probably spends a few hours a day, every day, window shopping. Most of his bookmarks on the computer are RV dealers.

He found me equivalent floor plans to everything I liked at the show, but all around 20k and only 1-2 years old. Maybe the checkbook stays home at the next show. Taking him along for that one though. Both my parents and wife's parents wanna go, and all of us are looking to buy soon so probably pile into one car and head up.

Yeah. I should do that.

But campers are a lot more fun than a tank full of chit. I'm trying to hold out for annexation, but doesn't look like it's moving my way this year. As of last summer the town was remapping and annexing a ton of land in my vicinity but they stopped 3 houses west, took the north side of the street (which means a sewer hookup might be possible this year on my dime if they run the lines. If not, my hand is forced to replacement. Just ordered my 3rd pumping in 12 months) and 8 houses to the east. I'll probably give it another year. 30k for septic that requires maintenance and won't last forever vs a 30k sewer hookup that I don't have to worry about once it's past the property line is a no brainer.

In the process of pulling a home equity loan to do things. House is 3 years from being paid off, so plenty available. I just haven't pursued that option, choosing to bitch and moan on a cigar forum instead.

Camper 90% won't happen, but wife's more on board than ever. But she still doesn't want the same floorplans as I do. I use the camper for trackday events and house 6-10 people in my 6 bed camper and cater 100+ meals a weekend. I'd like a toy hauler with the huge open rear with bunk, side beds, tons of floor space and huge kitchen. But she wants to stay more homestyle just beds n stuff which is plenty doable and I'll concede if it's got at least 8 sleeping spots and a big kitchen. She hates my trackday stuff, and doesn't want to give an inch in that direction so it's a battle of tactics "kids room" bunkhouse with 2nd toilet so we don't wake the boy using the bathroom etc. If it was truly just for us, a sub 20 foot of any floor plan would be sufficient.

But I do kinda need roof, septic, wife's car, my truck, and camper all replaced soon, in that order.

Such is life.

It's been a black cloud over my shoulders for almost 10 years. In 2013 I got quotes ranging 30k-50k and all had a plus 10k possibility written in considering the regulations and stuff surrounding human waste. Pumping the 1000 gallon tank costs $200. I can pump it a LOT for the cost of a new system. Plus with new construction happening in my area, any wetlands taken over have to be redesignated as protected lands in other areas, got a letter informing me that one of which is about half my property, so I can't do anything in the back half. No barn, no septic, nothing.

Huge headache I've been playing over in my head for years with no clear answer other than huge amounts of money which seems to be the fix for most problems. Just having a real hard time buying a medium-term solution for my chit that costs half the value of my home.

Camping lets me forget these things for a week at a time.

I'm kicking myself for not buying Dad's RV from him.. I've had it for 7 years now but he still owes money on it.. it's a 39Z Bounder and the payoff is about 23k.. only 80k miles on it.. but the finance company says it has to go to auction.. won't let me make an offer on it... Doesn't make sense to me.. you'd think they'd like to sell it to me... Mellow

Good day here. Breakfast with my wife, a surprisingly good result against Chelsea and a couple hours of office work makes Monday appear tolerable from a distance.

Tomorrow... Go chiefs!

Biggest opportunity since Joe Montana was there.

Snowing again.

Couldn't sleep so got up and peeled/shredded/cooked some taters, poached some eggs, fried some sausage and made a big hearty breakfast for everyone.

Wife's still in bed and boy wanted to go outside so I shared with puppy dogs and chikens

Gotta go outside and shovel but it's 10° out.

Good Morning all,

24 with a high of 35.

I got lazy with my tire burning event last night and it shows!

I think I need to start up some kind of rally to get others involved. What do you think,

"Lets keep merica warm"

or

"Blexit on winter"

Me personally I was leaning towards a go fund me page called
"Phug this chit, Lets pay for Summer" and I will be the CEO and not take one cent from the funding. I do need volunteers for our financial department though.

Hey Dan....your dad is wicked smaht.
If you’re patient, you’ll be able to find what you are looking for, less than 5 years old, for MUCH less than new.
And, if you know what to look for, you’ll find one that has been well taken care of, and had all the kinks already fixed, and maybe a few nice mods to boot!

Even new RVs have some chit that doesn’t work right, or slightly broken, etc.

So far the big storm is much about nothing. Looks like about 3-4 inches of precipitation little if any ice sticking to the trees. I am not disappointed and it is still going to get very cold here by tomorrow morning -4f.

Same here in Ridley Park . . . not as much rain as predicted, and NO SNOW ! Applause

And for those that are interested in what we all eat for breakfast . . .
This morning I had, Jimmy Dean Sausage links, home fries, and 3 eggs over easy, along with a freshly baked "baguette" from LIDL's. ThumpUp
