I agree wholeheartedly. Never been a fan of any instant replay to make or change calls. Sports are human contests and should be judged by humans in real time. Until I hear evidence that refs or umps are compromised, I say do away with reviews....in all sports. Except maybe photo finishes....I need to think about that one.

Technology has advanced, the quality of refereeing has not and will not.

It has to be better.

One suggestion I heard last night was an eighth referee in the booth manning a monitor. If they see a mistake live action they can ring the head ref on the field......this was made by a former head of officiating that has been pushing for 8 refs like college has for years, and I like it.

I don't mind if they want to get 1st downs, fumbles and completions correct.. but if they're going to use the technology then they should use it on themselves too... That hitting the quarterback in da head call against KC was bullchit' and coulda changed the game... Mellow

Maybe give each team the opportunity to challenge penalty calls..........2 per game?

Make them use their timeouts to challenge non-calls.

Possible that challenges and replay-enabled calls contribute....I've seen baseball plays where field umpire doesn't even try to make a call....someone else has the final say, anyway

And I know advertising has bigger impact, but I'm tired of 3 1/2 hour games in all sports. Skip the replays and challenges and run the next play

...great no call...Go Rams!

there were several other non-calls that could've changed the game, including a facemask on Goff in the fourth Q, as he was running towards a touchdown and got stopped. The additional 4 points would've changed the flow of the game...

too many stoppages now...makes watching a game at the stadium tedious...

Saints could have killed almost another minute in the last two minutes with or without the non call.
Who do we blame for poor clock management?

I'm on the side of fewer interruptions, especially on judgement calls...otherwise we can have looks at nearly every passing play, where holding by the offensive line and defensive backs and linebackers, and interference by both offense and defense occurs...

Andy Reid got outcoached plain and simple. His clock usage was abysmal in the 4th quarter.

To the whiners I say.....I'm sorry my coach is smarter than yours.

I disagree. The better team, performing better than their opponent should win the games. Not be determined by random bad or non call. That said, the NFL lost me as a fan a few years ago, minus about 4 hours of Chiefs games prior to the playoffs, because of the bad calls, compounded by 6 minute delays where the refs get the call wrong a second time- this time in slow motion.

In order to save the city, they'll have to burn it down. Can you even fathom even more replays and delays?

Nope.

Somehow men don't wear pads or helmets and beat the hell out of each other with drama or 4 hour games. What is the allure of the NFL?

English Premier League Soccer.
-45 minute half, without commercials.
-15 minute half time.
-45 minute second half, also without commercials.

The whole thing done in less than two hours.

ESPN is beginning to ruin things for non EPL games. They can't help but make a game 2 hours and 5 minutes, so they can whoreout themselves for an extra two sets of commercials.

After watching "Big Red" coach in Philly all those years, I can attest to his "clock management" failures.

On a side note, re: the "non-call" . . .
The Commissioner CAN override a call or non-call in a game, should he choose. The rule has been in affect for several years, although it has never been utilized.
Just sayin'.
