Macs, at best what you smoked in high school could be considered the disabled inbred cousin of marijuana... It'd be like drinking rubbing alcohol and saying "I don't get why people like drinking alcohol, it's just not that good"....
As for pots usefulness vs alcohols, I would think if you had 2 substances that were equally useful but one of them killed thousands of people a year and the other one killed nobody, then you could probably say one of them is more useful than the other...
I've got my own personal story about how pot turned me from a literally socially retarded 17 year old loser who had never had a girlfriend and didn't understand how to make friends and couldn't make eye contact with strangers, into a functioning semi-adult... but I won't bore you with it...
Quite well put, and just ONE positive story I have seen come from the proper type or strain of MMJ.
I must respectfully disagree with dsteiger as well. Much of what the general public, that isn't intimately involved with it's use, just see the generic user, who is often addicted to a variety of other drugs and alcohol, simultaneously. I'm positive proof of how different types can help or hurt. Sativa's with a higher THC can allow me to feel less pain, sometimes pain free for an hour or so, from my failed cervical fusion spasms as well as the lumbar problems, than the variety of pain/narcotics, anti-spasmodics and analgesics, etc that I am having to take on a multiple times a day regime. The discs all along my lumbar area are shot and one vertebrae has slipped forward and down onto the one below. I have actually lost an inch or more in height over the last twelve to fifteen years! EVERY step that I take is painful. I deal with 24/7 pain and unfortunately live in a State that is in the "Bible Belt" and slow to come around to the benefits. There have been attempts by a variety of State reps to try and get MMJ bills through, but to no avail. Maybe the current one is acceptable, but I don't know the details. I have reached the "effective lifespan" with the current pain reliever and I don't want to take anything stronger. My regular doctor has offered a stronger narcotic multiple times over the last ten years, no thanks!
This foolish prohibition is just more proof of the Federal Govt. propaganda and how good it works, LMAO!
It's all about control and money.
