Shame on you Not talking

This 8 minute YOUTUBE video is really eye opening....& it literally is the example of "the TRUMP EUPHEMISM"....
WHAT A SH*T-HOLE....

FREAKIN Hindu's migrate on pilgrimages every year to this moving cesspool of untreated industrial waste, human feces and dead bodies ( the government is stocking hundreds of flesh eating turtles to eat the human corpses left there by poor families who can't afford burials).
OVER HALF OF INDIA GETS their drinking water from this cesspool of filth and over 85% of India's human sewage is untreated and flows into its rivers...

I thought the SCHUYKILL RIVER, HUDSON RIVER AND THE CUYAHOGA RIVER WERE BAD...
the Ganges makes those rivers look like mountain TROUT STREAMS...

Thank God for Edmund Muskie's CLEAN WATERS ACT of 1971...that was vetoed by Richard Nixon but OVERRIDDEN BY THE U.S. SENATE AND THE U.S. HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES IN 1972....

Jonesy..........the Ganges is no different than any other river in the region.I used to train the Indian,Sri Lankan and Bangladeshian Navies and Marines in border security.Raw sewage, dead bodies, dead animals.......so on and so forth was a common sight up any of these rivers.Yes they use these contaminated resources.........but they don't seem to mind.Bottled water was the order of the day

^^^ Not sure frank ?
I sure as neck HOPE NOT !
BUT....
Every person that Trump appoints to the EPA has leaned toward corporations and industrial attitudes...like making COAL GREAT AGAIN.
I haven't seen Trump appoint any SIERRA CLUB or Trout Unlimited approved dept. Heads to the EPA...WE NEED A FEW MORE OF THEM AT THE EPA to keep the polluters on their toes.

Trump EPA is rolling back some provisions of the Clean Water Act, to clarify which are covered and de-listing many others...and also changing the process of cost -benefit analysis, which will ultimately result in relaxation of regs...

when we elect the next adult to POTUS, he/she will have to clean up a pile of crap...we should make the businesses that create the mess pay the clean-up bills with all the money they got from the tax cuts...

Many EPA revised regulations enacted during the Obama admin were considered draconian. Many farmers and ranchers had their lands that had been in the family for generations listed as "sensitive" even some that were mosquito infested swamps and were unable to make any modifications nor sell the land due to those restrictions.

I'm all for EPA enforcement where it makes sense but this is an area where the Dems lost support of much of the Midwest in the last election.

So... I'm not sure which regulations you're talking about dead... But a mosquito infested swamp is not necessarily not also a sensitive area. I mean... A swamp is an ecosystem as well, and can possibly house important plant or animal life, or be connected in some way to the aquifer.

Again... I don't have any information here, I'm just basing my statement on what you told us...

You may have to go back maybe 100-150 years to get those businesses that created most of the superfund sites if you want that to happen.

I don't necessarily disagree. Just stating that all EPA regulations are not considered equal by those that have had their land in effect confiscated without reimbursement.

BTW, the Ganges is considered sacred IIRC so that is the reason many funerals are conducted by placing the dead in the river. This was the focus of a file I saw on PBS once.

the existence of superfund sites is exactly why I think we should implement the plan. They are mostly contained. Most of those businesses declared bankruptcy, absolving individual owners/shareholders of accountability and left the tax-payers holding the bag. Some of the haz-mats left will be dangerous forever...

It is existing businesses that are putting measurable pollutants into our air, land, and water that we should be holding accountable now.

We had a paper mill up here that was continually polluting the Fox River over a 25+ year period. Denied it repeatedly. Once it was proved they were polluting, they claimed it was such a mess, it would bankrupt the mill if they were taxed for cleaning it up.

The judge had little of that, slapped a massive fine on them. The fed sent money as well. They've been cleanings the river now for almost a decade. It's beginning to take shape, with some way to go.

Corporations are smarter, wealthier, better, people than most of us ignorant, poor, inferior people. If they can profit more by shedding the shackles of environmental regulations that don't really do any good or protect anyone, then we will all be better off when we get trickled down on.......

Sounds like GP or Weyerhauser, I was once in the paper/packaging/printing with THE largest paper/packaging company in the world, (at that time, they sold off, etc., and eventually James River Corp was no more, it might be GP, now).

I had to travel to Wisconsin Rapids to visit one of the paper plants, multiple times, in January to boot!!!! I saw a fox walking across the frozen river, and told the salesman to stop. He lived in MN and loved coming over there to WI, he would always hit the Menominee Rez casino, hehe! He said it was the first time he's actually seen a fox in the wild. City boy.
