Well goodbye to my CDL. 30 years and it treated me well. I went from the bottom to the top of the top. It was good to me. Now I need to conquer something else. My pain level.

Yes it's crazy and hard to loose my commercial license but I can't function with my health issues anymore. I will continue to build the trucking company that I'm at. But hopefully pain free and enjoying the things I enjoy. 😁👍

Great news Coop!

Finally , some people who accept that marijuana doesn't turn someone into a talentless criminal....

Hope it works on your pain.

Glad the company realizes that you are a solid talented citizen with decades of knowledge in your field...
That doesnt get lost the second you smoke a joint...
But some red neck morons and certain dumbass straight shooter police people think anybody turns into an instant and dumb criminal when they smoke pot...

I am glad to hear it Coop. I think you have made a super wise choice personally. Everyday at work is not all fun and games but everyday is a hell of a lot better when you are not hurting or hurting as much. I take the CEO un-knotted his draws?

Good for you, Cooper.

Sit back, adopt a baby bobcat, and share the smoke.

It will be a while before you go full-on tard.

I smoked marijuana when I was in HS. I know it is stronger today than it was then, but I still don't see it as useful for "pain management". It may have some medicinal properties, but I don't really think analgesic is one of them.

I think it is less harmful than booze... but no more useful than booze, either.

Just my opinion on the matter.

I would agree with you as I never experienced that aspect myself back in the day, but I'll admit they've done a lot more than just increase strength. Strains are broken down to several components that have different effects to varying degrees. It ain't the ditch weed of decades back anymore

Ya man... I've watched people climb off the narcotic wagon in favor of thc concentrates... It's managing pain for some people...

Macs, at best what you smoked in high school could be considered the disabled inbred cousin of marijuana... It'd be like drinking rubbing alcohol and saying "I don't get why people like drinking alcohol, it's just not that good"....

As for pots usefulness vs alcohols, I would think if you had 2 substances that were equally useful but one of them killed thousands of people a year and the other one killed nobody, then you could probably say one of them is more useful than the other...

I've got my own personal story about how pot turned me from a literally socially retarded 17 year old loser who had never had a girlfriend and didn't understand how to make friends and couldn't make eye contact with strangers, into a functioning semi-adult... but I won't bore you with it...

I respect your opinion...
But, imo, the evidence coming out in the last ten years says otherwise.

It “may have medicinal properties”?
The fact that it does is already an accepted fact.

No more useful than booze?
Sorry Macs, but that statement is simply...............eh.........never mind...

I’m not a fan at all myself for personal use, but I think it should be completely legalized and I’ve seen first hand benefits of medical use for it and low THC/ high CBD uses for both. I have personal reasons for not being a fan of recreational use but that’s just personal. I would actually use CBD salves for pain if the DOT wasn’t an issue.

Also, you don't hear about anyone beating their wife or kicking their dog because they smoked too much.

I mean, in order to do so would mean they would have to drop their bag of doritos and actually get up off the couch.

I think some people’s opinions are shaped by people they’ve experienced that partake. I have seen both extremes and I’ll take the good with the bad. The good are some awesome friends.

I would probably support regulated medicinal use. But I am 100% certain that legalization for recreational use is a large net negative for society and our country.

Why do you see it as a net negative for society?

How can it be any worse than alcohol?

I'm sure that books could be (have been?) written about various arguments against widespread recreational use. My primary objection is that a huge percentage of the population of pot users experience a marked decline in 'ambition '...or drive...or energy....My somewhat extensive, totally unscientific, observation is that pot makes many (most?) users feel ok with being lazy. I have other concerns, but that is my primary

What?
I am missing something.....nothing about that question is making sense to me. Why would effect of pot use be evaluated in relation to anything about alcohol....and even if it were.....maybe some people will replace alcohol with pot in some situations....even then, the question makes little sense.
BTW, the argument for pot ...that it isn't worse than alcohol....is such a poor argument unless you break it down into comparisons of most pros and cons of each....or...maybe I'm missing something

Your argument can be similarly applied to alcohol...

If alcohol were legal, then people would sit around being drunk alcoholics all day. While true.. there will be a certain percentage of the population who turn into lushes and pummel their liver every day all day till they die... but most can simply have a drink.

Same goes for weed, some people will sit around smoking weed all day doing nothing (pro tip, the ones that would already do), but most can maybe take a puff or two socially or at night and not have it meaningfully affect their lives.

Thinking that if weed were legal, it would turn the population into a hoard of chip munching couch zombies is a little out of step with reality.

Pretty much anyone who wants to do it already does it, it's not going to create a big influx of new pot heads just because it's legal.

And if you are arguing that most pot users are as productive as they would be without dope, I doubt that too

What I'm saying is most people just like with alcohol, don't actually sit around all day abusing it... so it has no impact on their productivity, because they're not actually doing it while they are supposed to be productive.

You're assuming that if it's legal, then it's going to trigger the zombie apocalypse, not going to happen.

As far as those that are high all the time... you would be surprised at how many people you deal with on a day to day basis are actually high when you're dealing with them (and you would never know the difference). Fully functional potheads that have no problem doing what ever job they do with minimal effects on their productivity.

I know it sounds crazy, but it's true.

Quite well put, and just ONE positive story I have seen come from the proper type or strain of MMJ.

I must respectfully disagree with dsteiger as well. Much of what the general public, that isn't intimately involved with it's use, just see the generic user, who is often addicted to a variety of other drugs and alcohol, simultaneously. I'm positive proof of how different types can help or hurt. Sativa's with a higher THC can allow me to feel less pain, sometimes pain free for an hour or so, from my failed cervical fusion spasms as well as the lumbar problems, than the variety of pain/narcotics, anti-spasmodics and analgesics, etc that I am having to take on a multiple times a day regime. The discs all along my lumbar area are shot and one vertebrae has slipped forward and down onto the one below. I have actually lost an inch or more in height over the last twelve to fifteen years! EVERY step that I take is painful. I deal with 24/7 pain and unfortunately live in a State that is in the "Bible Belt" and slow to come around to the benefits. There have been attempts by a variety of State reps to try and get MMJ bills through, but to no avail. Maybe the current one is acceptable, but I don't know the details. I have reached the "effective lifespan" with the current pain reliever and I don't want to take anything stronger. My regular doctor has offered a stronger narcotic multiple times over the last ten years, no thanks!

This foolish prohibition is just more proof of the Federal Govt. propaganda and how good it works, LMAO!

It's all about control and money.

Pretty off the mark with that one... I'm personally rarely ok with laziness... The Times I've been forced to the sideline by extreme sciatic nerve issues, migraines, and other maladies have been my most unhappy....

Sunday, after getting baked, I did brunch with my mother in law for her birthday, filed our taxes, dug a 4 foot deep hole for the new fish pond, turned over 3 raised garden beds, planted peas and numi corn, fertilized the garden by hand, vacuumed some spider mites, hung a new light in the garage, cooked dinner for the wife and kids and then read Garfield books until the kids feel asleep...

and I had a head cold...

What'd you do Sunday?

Trust me, Brother, he's right.

I verified that by working for a company that went all over the Country, BIG ads that drew the general public to our hotel buying operation by the thousands. While dealing with the public for 60-70 hours per week, you get a feeling of the population and a pulse of what's happening.

At any rate....I meant to qualify my position somewhat, understanding full well that psychotropic drugs never affect two people identically. I still say I will be very surprised if I'm ever shown that increased marijuana usage makes a large segment of society more productive overall. I would bet a large sum that the opposite will be true....but at least we won't care
