My experience has been that those foam ones are super comfortable but I find myself really hot in the middle of the night. Really really hot...Not so much airflow.

We got a purple about a year ago and have been very pleased. Seems to be a weird structural rubber mattress. The woman thinks it's too cold, because airflow is really good. But her azz can just put another blanket on.

I think the development of foam mattresses and the ability to pack them in a reasonable sized box for shipping made it much easier for these companies to pop up. They are no longer tied to a physical store with local delivery.

I'm intrigued by how many offer risk free trials of a month or more. My wife has disk and joint issues which complicate getting good balance of support and cushioning....just laying on them in a store doesn't come close to spending multiple consecutive nights on them

We did the popular one on overstock that has the gel insert... Stays cool... Too cool for me but the wife just makes me put another blanket on...

We have a Novaform mattress we found at CostCo. This is the second foam mattress, we had an Icool before and it was OK and cooler, but not as firm.

True and getting rid of one can be a challenge too. Ratchet straps are your friend.

The endless supply of companies and their endless choices are making me KrayZee! Price points are all over the place. My handy dandy Consumer Reports has good information but I'm still scratching my Arse on what to buy. Thanks for all input.

Bought a Memory Foam about a year ago from Costco. Hard and uncomfortable. They were good with picking it up, per the purchase agreement. It took them six weeks to pick it back up.

Went to a local store, picked up a inner spring, firm mattress. Very happy with it.

I had a tempurpedic and gave it back before the trial ended. That was at least 11 years ago because I was still in the Navy. Comfortable, but as Vic said, I was way too hot. We got a Simmons beauty rest and had that for a couple years when I heard about the Serta iComfort.

The iComfort is the memory foam with the cooling gel. Comfortable like the Tempur, without the hot... still a bit warm, but much better and comfortable.

We bought a Novaform during a Costco sale for the NC house, but made the mistake of leaving in the box for a couple years. When we took it out of the box, it would not fully expand. I makes we wonder how long they can be stored in dealer's inventory before they are worthless.

I would guess if it doesn't expand after a couple years in the box it would also be lumpy after a couple years sleeping in the same spot. I am also interested in this topic but haven't even started to look at new mattresses. Is this cool mattress that nice?
