Home for food and sleep ahead of the next 10-13 inches of snow.

At least it is above zero.

Super icy when I left for work. Couldn't get my truck out of the driveway. Slid down to the bottom sideways, threw down a bunch of salt and managed to straighten out but then slid straight towards the ditch. Left it in the yard with some logs under the tires to hopefully keep it from going down the hill. Had to take wife's car to work.

Happy Tuesday fellas.

Ran out of salt and used some sand to get my truck back in the driveway in my parking spot.

Driveway's crackling like rice crispies with the salt I put down.

Kid's got a 2 hour delay for school. Can't wait till 930. Between snow days and delays, I'm kinda dreading summer break.... At least we'll be camping whenever I'm not working and can tell him to get lost till the sun goes down.

Just got a statement from brokerage account for a few trades I completely forgot about from last January. I thought everything I had I bought or held all year. Basically incidental profit, but got a statement for $60 ish a week after I filed taxes.....

Already cut the check (and it's been posted to my account) to state and expecting about $200 federal return that IRS.gov shows as approved, but payment date is tomorrow.

Not sure if I send amended return or cross my fingers and hope there's no audit over such a small amount...

dan, I would leave as is, filed taxes last year and never filed for so called income with credit card payoff's, received notice of taxes due and had to repay. No audit and mine was in the thousands. So my advice leave it as is.

Thank you sir.

I couldn't imagine chasing me down over maybe $5 in taxes but it wouldn't surprise me.

Wife had some jewelry appraised for insurance. Pleasantly surprised to find her engagement ring is worth more than double what I paid for it less than 6 years ago. All kinds of risk buying big ticket stuff online, but I can recommend Blue Nile very highly...if you are willing to buy diamond jewelry sight unseen.

Hmmm...
That wouldn't have worked for me. The woman had a brand requirement for the diamond.

It hurt.

Fortunately I did get a discount from the jeweler for having used her many times in the past. But there's no way I would be able to sell it for more than I paid.

I've spent a bundle on jewelry for my wife over the years...necklaces, ear-rings, rings, bracelets... diamonds, rubies, pearls, emeralds, jade, blue topaz, blue zircon and turquoise (last three are birthstones)

so she can keep it hidden in the house in case we're burglarized again...we've been burgled several times at previous residences...the first burglary resulted in a strand of pearls stolen...hence the hiding strategy.... but so far, not here in Corona..

a few years ago, I realized that she never wears any of her "good" jewelry, so I stopped buying it...

Well, I spent all day at the neuropsych doing testing yesterday answering over 1000 questions and doing about 300 task. After leaving there I told my wife never again will I go through such. She asked me why. I told her that I do not need to go through all that in order to not feel good about myself. It is bad enough that I have had some pretty astounding life accomplishments in my opinion to only be reminded that my brain is no longer capable of doing simple math or being able to remember 3 simple words for longer than 5 minutes. We go back the 22nd to get the results and I am already dreading it.

Any how, I have just been busy with Dr appointments and crap. My blood has been going on the thick side even though they have been upping my dose of warfarin. They can not figure out why. Every week I have been having to test it since November and no change. The chitty part is these damn strips to check my blood is asinine. They cost me almost 2k a bottle and you only get 12 in a bottle. God help if one gives an error because that means throw it in the trash and check it again. At $166.00 bucks a strip but yet Social Security has seen fit to take almost a year now just to approve a hearing for disability. I am so sick of this chit.

Your warfarin resistance is probably because your wife was giving it to you long before you needed it as a blood thinner. She's just confused as to why it hasn't killed you yet.

Chopped all the veggies for a batch of beans to cook tomorrow. Gotta make the stock tonight.

Smoked a chicken. Waiting for it to cool, then gonna strip and boil the carcass for bean broth.

Not using any smoked ham bits this time. I usually buy whatever's cheapest from the smoked pile of leftover pig bits at the butcher. But I feel like experimenting.. Hoping smoked chicken stock will do the trick. We'll see. Probably still need to put some sausage in there for the fat. Chicken fat/skin probably not a suitable substitute for lard and my lard tub was soured. Do have a tub of bacon drippings though, that would work

.

Snow not as bad as predicted - snow and ice together under 5". No power outage here and it's already a couple of degrees over freezing and sunny. I could probably shovel the driveway and paths today, but I really have nowhere I have to go

Tuesday Snow day
Wed. 2 hour delay....

Have many errands and Dr.s appts for my 88 year old mom with dementia...getting her in and out of the car is hard...
Has a cast on her left wrist from a fall at the nursing home.
I can't afford the VAN @$50.00 AND A NURSING HOME SPOTTER FOR 3 HOURS @ $90-120 total...
$150 to $170 to get a arm x-ray..

Then her Memory unit room is $7,800-$8,300 PER FREAKIN MONTH...$98,000 A YEAR !!!

NO INHIERETENCE FOR ME OR MY BROTHER WHATSOEVER
NOW....

ward of the state by Nov. 2019 ...my fathers and her entire LIFE SAVINGS HAS GONE TO THE NURSING HOME
($500,000 HAS BEEN SUCKED OUT OF THEIR LIFE LONG SAVINGS) Since NOVEMBER 5TH 2014...Her first day after moving into that nursing home...the exact same day I WENT TO THE WEDNESDAY SPAGHETTI NIGHT SPECIAL AT FIORENTTINOS RESTAURANT(4:30PM) AT THE LANCASTER, PA AIRPORT AND AN FBI-SSG AGENT STOOD UP at his table in front of at least 20 other patrons AND TRIED TO LUNGE AT ME SCREAMING "HE ( which was me..Mr. Jones ) SHOULD BE DEAD OR IN JAIL...HE HAS NO RIGHT TO BE EATING AT THAT BAR!!!" while his "fake wife w/ massive tits" FBI-SSG PARTNER HELD HIM BACK FROM TRYING TO ASSAULT ME IN A PUBLIC RESTAURANT ACROSS FROM THAT NURSING HOME...
^^ THAT ...MY FRIENDS IS HOW FBI-SSG FELON MURDERING SCUM AGENTS ACT IN PUBLIC WHEN THEY LOSE IT....OUR GREAT FEDERAL LAW ENFORCEMENT IN ACTION.

WHAT GETS ME MOST...

POOR PEOPLE PAY N.O.T.H.I.N.G. AND GET FREE COUNTY HOME CARE FROM DAY FREAKIN O.N.E....

I GUESS IT PAYS TO BE A SLACKER...

EVERYTHING FOR FREE WHILE HARD WORKERS LOSE THEIR ENTIRE LIFE SAVINGS...
