Very good but for the price there are regular productions that I like better. I bought a 5er of these along with others to try to find a custom that hits my sweet spot like the Alex CG from around '17. The current crop of tobacco seems stronger but without that flowery, graham cracker component I enjoy.

Still have some Hoyo de Mena and Miguel from Hector Luis farm to try.

From last CC split 1st I've had. Pretty good, starts off spicy and finishes with a creamy profile.

Yeah, the price keeps inching up and it seems less worth it. I really liked the 5er of Hoyo de Mena A's I got and was gonna get some more but the price jumped crazy high. Plus maybe its just me but I feel like a lot of the custom have gotten have got flat after a couple of years.

I bought a box of Montecristo Open Regata last May. I plan to age them for a couple years, but in the meantime I smoked one last month, just out of curiosity. The flavor was typical, Cuban grassy notes, but the burn was very uneven and had a poor draw. I think I convinced myself to stick to Hondurans and Nicaraguans.

Monte Opens tend to have that effect on people.

HU Sir Winston - I keep waiting on these to impress me, hasn't happened yet. The Connie #1 I had the other day was far superior.

Half way through a '14 box. 10 or so were meh at best. two were really good and one was like top 10 all time. I don't know what to think.

They are stupidly expensive for the experience you get. And they seem rather sought after, has me thinking of just selling the rest of the box. Money would be better spent on Fundies.

'18 Juan Lopez #1. Was hoping for a box with some age on it, but oh well. Surprisingly good for such a young box. But they are going down for a deep sleep.

JL #2 6/12 can't keep my hands off these. The best JL I have had in many years. My note in the box from '13 when I tried one OTT says meh.

'18 Fonseca #1. These are tasting really great already. Might have to snag a few more boxes.

How would you describe the flavor profile? Or what cigar do you think it is most similar to? I keep hearing rave reviews on the #1, but I haven't had a Fonseca that impressed me.

They're one of the mild Cubans. But they don't have that grassy profile that you taste in the other mild CCs. Honestly, I prefer La Flor De Cano Selectos, but everybody's been out of them for quite a while.
