Many years ago there Was a Gurkha cigar that was one of those you either like it or you don't. Some said it reminded them of a barnyard some said it had an earthy taste they liked. I haven't gotten back to cigars until recently due to money issues. I would like to find out about that cigar.

It's called the Gurkha Keester... Each one given a special "starfish-press" by k Han himself...

Never met anyone with enough brass to even try one, but here you are, courageous soul, looking for seconds....

You're not exactly a noob, so renaming isn't appropriate... Frank still might be pissed....

If you want to convert perfectly-good US currency into garbage cigars, nothing beats buying Gurkhas! It's HIGHLY effective!

Ok KatMan........bottom line.......want to take a WAG as to how many cigar blends Hansotia has dumped on the market since your “many years ago?
1,874 you say?
That sounds about right. Now you know why we need a little more info in order to have a 1 in a 1,000,000 chance of helping you.........because well.........even IF, by some WEIRD miracle, you were able to actually identify that cigar?
It’s probably been discontinued, licensed out, or an entirely new crappy blend.
Save yourself the headache.
Forget about searching for this Gurkha, and send an apology card to Frank.

My first year or two here, there were a number of Gurkhas that I didn't hate. Partly because I was giddy about getting cigars at 15% of MSRP. IIRC, Centurian, Master Select something, old purple AW's...some cammy Nepa something...maybe a couple others. Turned out those weren't really all that great either. Given a chance to buy a Gurkha for around $4 or less now, I might buy a few Micro Liga TPB-1....can't think of another one

All that said, I think the Master Select was sorta barnyard-y....but the memory's fuzzy on that one

The only Gurkha I ever smoked with any regularity was the Doble Maduro...……...and it was because of it's deep earthy profile.Haven't had one in 10 years or so...…...they may taste like lemon pledge these days.

They are still not too bad - not sure they are the same.

It would be nice if the OP could give a clue as to what this magnificent Gurkha looked like.

OP - your name is too long - Do you mind if we call you Kitty instead ?

I’m just waiting for the super rare (yet weekly) 93% off MSRP sale on Gurkha sticks and hope they come with either a challenge coin or a Rambo knife...

#2 and #4...
I just don't have the strength, and turns out that, because of the Gurkha thing, his mother doesn't care either.

I think I'm out of the Nepalese Warriors... but I still have 4 or 5 of those 8 inch, or so, purple banded Ancient Warriors.

Had 'em a long time. Smoked one just the other day. I thought it was pretty dang good. :-)

Long time ago I got a tenski of Titans that was, in my opinion at the time, pretty good.
Bought another tenski a while later, it sucked rhino balls.
One of those actually exploded on me......startled me real good, and put a one inch rip in the wrapper.
That was the beginning of the end of my Gurkha smoking.

It’s like Puddin said, there are good Gurkhas out there. It’s finding them that’s near impossible, and expecting to be able to get them again later, and have them be good again is pretty much impossible.

I was thinking about those AWs. Were great for a ballgame. Lasted 9 imnnings or 4 quarters. Thought they were decent cigars.

Many of you know in my younger years (50/60), i really liked Gurkhas & won a Gurkha cabinet humi ( posted a pic years ago) filled with over 100 cigars. They had Beasts, ancient warriors, shaggy’s & several others along with tins filled with 5 different cigars. Well after 10 years I still have some left. So....Sunday, I lit up a shaggy & maybe it was the bourbon along with the aging it became a real nice smoke. I realize the recent stuff is crap but the old stuff ain’t bad.
Just my humble opinion!

I once had a great Purple banded 8" AW. Since that time they have not been really good and I've been smoking them while mowing the lawn. Hard to set aside a couple of hours to properly smoke one cigar. I still must have 20 or more of them.
