Hope the fat little bastid enjoys his three day train trip home.

He really should rely more on the U.S. left wing media as his intel source to plot his strategy.

After all, Trump needed a win to try and offset the Cohen circus (according to the media).

If you look at where we were with rocket boy back in the days of the Obama administration, It's almost miraculous how far trump has gotten with him... And if you ask most Koreans on the peninsula, they'd say they're more optimistic now than they've been in 60 years...

I wonder whether it would have been possible (not necessarily a good thing) to show good faith by both sides to settle a few of the smaller issues- you know like having to walk before you can run. International political negotiations don't work the same way as real estate negotiations.

usually "others" do the negotiating. these two egos may need supporting cast involvement.

I don't disagree at all.

But Trump was elected because he wasn't a politician.

We can't now ask or expect him to play politics.

If we want to revert back to traditional international political negotiation tactics then we should elect the same 'ol same 'ol.

Maybe after his 8 year shake up of the system that's just what we'll do.

imo with another regime maybe. but not nk. they have defied all logic/good faith for generations and should not be allowed to think they are anywhere near our equals. we hold all the cards. they only hold the crazy card.

I'm no expert on Korean way of life, but just as a casual observer I'd say any country stuck in an internal armistice for almost 70 years - an armistice being a literal way of saying we won't deal with any small things until the big thing is dealt with - probably isn't interested in smaller issues...

There's denuclearization and there's abolition of the dmz... Once those are accomplished there really are no smaller issues...

We going to pretend that Donnie hasn’t done more in NorK than previous POTUS? I think he’s earned some praise and room to continue his work in this area. Plenty left on the bone elsewhere to chew on.

Agreed... He's pushed the issue to front and center... Might not like the direction he's taking, but much like immigration, he's forcing movement in areas where all recent previous presidents have failed at anything other than talk...

The "crazy card" is worthless if one believes we would turn NK into glass should they launch targeted missiles.

Kim wouldn't be at the table if he thought the crazy card held any value... His recent moves are nothing more than tantrums thrown by a child wanting to negotiate down the amount of time he has to spend sitting in the corner... And the adults in the room are having none of it...

Trump said he and Kim Jung Un were in love before the summit...Kim wrote Trump so many beautiful letters...Trump eagerly and publicly flew half way around the world with heart in hand for a dalliance...to see how far his new lover was willing to go...

the last image of the summit, where Trump and Kim were seated at a table, not looking at one another, sure did not appear as if the two were still in love...but Trump said he believed him when Kim said he had nothing to do with the American kid who was killed in NK...

I wonder what would have happened if Obama had even suggested a friendly relationship with fatty fat fat and provided cover for a torture and death

Some have sold their integrity out big time.

Wtf guys. Really? Trump means that much to you? You will burn with him.

That's a cynical point of view, to say the least.

Bill Clinton considers his biggest failure to be his inability to bring peace between Israel and the Palestinians.
Do we fault him for trying?
Did we argue the merit or the methods during the process?

You're right about one thing: there are many who would have ridiculed Obama for such a relationship.
But those were the extreme haters from the right.

You've just established yourself as an extreme hater from the left.
Fortunately for you, you've got the bulk of today's MSM on your side, whereas the extreme right was limited to the Tea Party and Foxnews.

Safety in numbers.
So you've got that going for ya.

Stallion? I blush.

If Trump is to be taken at his word (deep breath) then negotiating with NK means we are safer from a potential major war against us.

being a third party negotiator between Israel and Palestinians, though desirable, is on a different level of US interest. And every President since the late 1940's has failed at that, so singling out Clinton for comparison is kinda forcing partisan beliefs into it...the far left does not own that situation.

Sort of Frank.....but I would add that the MSM was REALLY pushing the narrative day in and day out with Clinton (who’s administration was pretty DJT like in they’re bragging).

yeah. But it didn't fall apart because Clinton walked...Carter just about had it too.
But it always came down to one side (guess who I mean, HA!) walking without even a counter offer...remember Yasyu Arafart's position?

But you can see why I used the comparison.

This (USA/NK) is a big deal.
Our heads of state had never met previously. It's now happened twice, with some very obvious demands by both sides. It doesn't happen overnight, yet the media makes it look like a failure, futile, or worse.

This is Trump actually playing the role of POTUS.
If we get even half way to the goal line, it's a victory for everyone.

nor should it happen too quickly, agreed.
Hoping and assuming there are lower level discussions at work in the shadows and what we are seeing is just window dressing.

Gotta tell ya early on though:

S Korea has already made major inroads to avoid another war between those two,

I'd be surprised if you believed Trump when he said if he wasn't elected we were definitely headed to all out war with NK

China pulls the strings over there anyway,

NK is one of the worst of many countries in which grotesque human rights abuses occur. I'd much prefer our efforts aimed at that, in NK and other places.

60 years without any real reason to fear NK. Haven't heard a real reason to start yet.

HA!

he bowed to show cultural respect to an ally nation's leader. got destroyed here.
he did not barf in an ally's leader's lap.
he did not declare love for the leader of a country that sent home an abused boy to die.
he did not give a pass to a Prince who killed a journalist because the Prince spends money on weapons (inflated the figure x 10).

I must have TDS, even though I want relations to normalize with NK.

imagine if Obama had announced that he believed Putin's assertions over the US intel network's assessment of NK nuclear capabilities.....................wowwee...

wonder if Trump believed Putin when he said Russia has developed hypersonic missiles that could strike any US target and avoid US defensive capabilities.................................
