Don't waste the time.....just make sure he is one term. I don't care what party the next POTUS is, so long as it isn't Trump

The only reason MUELLER took on "the special prosecutors"
Appointment....
Was to F.I.L.L. his safe deposit boxes in Switzerland with cash that he SHOOK DOWN from Russian Oligarchs on the NYC airport tarmacs....and to create more R.A.T.S. for the FBI.

Trump was never guilty or impeachable...

Follow the money.

Pelosi is on point. There is no chance the senate would convict Trump. The fools hollering impeach Trump don't seem to care. The Democrats benefit most from Trump completing his term. The ongoing daily innuendo with either reelect Trump, or elect a Democratic president. The Democrats should bet on it electing a Democratic president. The American people will make that call in 2020.

as for Pelosi, shows how she has gotten where she has...at best, it rallies the moderate Dems who have been the majority of the newly elected people to Congress (not the headline grabbing wing nuts) to get to work on reality.
At worst, if Mueller's findings are a horror for America, she still has time to pick up the flag and run with it.

Wicked smaht political play by the old gal. She can't lose.

and she correctly pointed out that the newly elected members did not win on impeachment but on other issues, acknowledging what voters want.

Frank, even if the Mueller report revealed criminal wrong doing, I doubt she would start the impeachment process. There are not enough votes in the senate to convict Trump. The voting would be along political lines.

that's why I said if the findings are a horror for America, meaning undeniably bad proven links where only fools would say it's OK and GOP senators have no choice...
She could reverse course and not look bad.

So assuming that scenario is not gonna happen, she has made the first politically savvy move. I may have underestimated her when I was rooting for an internal revolt a few months ago.

This topic always reminds of this song
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uV14jq2n-jg

Take a little naps where the roots all twist
Squished a rotten peach in my fist
And dreamed about you, woman,
I poked my finger down inside
Make a little room for an ant to hide
Nature's candy in my hand or can or a pie

it makes no sense to start an impeachment process, knowing there is no chance for conviction in the Senate...the GOP has not been willing to buck Trump regardless of any misconduct, and the more he is investigated, the stronger his GOP approval ratings...

we'll have to let America decide in 2020 if we want him as POTUS... Dems outnumber GOP, but don't turn out in high enough numbers to assure a vote to put Trump out....there are still a few undecided independents who want to see the Mueller report and the results from all the investigations in SDNY against Trump, his family and associates, his company, his campaign and his foundation...if there is evidence of serious wrongful or criminal conduct revealed over the run up to the 2020 elections, that could make a difference...

we really don't know what the findings are. But if some giant terrible stuff were to emerge even GOP senators would do the deed.
But it would (and SHOULD) be yuuuugely bad stuff...or no impeachment should commence.

unlikely anything of that magnitude would not have seeped out a little by now if it existed.

I'm limiting this to Mueller's work.

You're right.

We should have an investigation on every new POTUS.

In case there is something worthy of impeachment.

Because we won't know until the investigation is complete.

Tail is right, special councils are a waste of time. Archibald Cox, Ken Starr, total waste of time. I mean really, was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor?

Special councils are indeed a waste of time when the target is unknown.

True for Ken Starr. From whitewater to oval office "non-sexual relations" is a joke.

Here we have from Russia (with love) to ex lawyers who were corrupt prior to joining team trump.

When the goal is to "find something. Anything." then it's a joke and a waste and anyone in support of it should be embarrassed for their partisan stupidity.

We shouldn't forget: the investigation by the feds was initiated based on unsubstantiated dossiers paid for by political opponents.
It was further sold by the media so JQ Public would buy in. (and boy did they) but the damage was done by corrupt and clearly biased Fibbies.

Ken Starr should have stopped when whitewater and the related context hit a dead end.
We know that now.
But we haven't learned from it.
