A real pain in the heell!!!!

Recently started walking to get ready to do my first 5k and as usual for myself went to hard to fast. Both heels are inflamed now and the 5k is in the morning.

This should be interesting to say the least.

Don't worry. We'll get frank and x to go down and take care of this.

Are you sure he stood down. Or was it a ruse and the operation went dark?

Strongly suggest you listen to this ^^

It’s one of those chronic/repetitive stress injuries that can escalate into something VERY difficult to deal with if you fuq up.
If ya smaht, ya listens to DED.

Sadly, I’ve been there, done that.

Many, many moons ago but like you, i overtrained. Also used a lightweight training / racing flat when it was doing LSD (...that’s “Long Slow Distance” for you wise guys...). Ultimately got two Cortisone shots in my heels (...gawd, they were PAINFUL!...) but the injury basically took me out of running and back into competitive tennis again. Took awhile before I felt “normal” again.

Hopefully you’ll take it easy and not injure yourself more.

No worries...I am to fat to run. So that part of the not to do list is easy.

The hard part is remembering to do all the stretching and ice treatments.

On a side note CROS came by and lent me his old wheelchair....now just need X and Frank to get here to push me around

Did that once and had relief for all of 2.5 hours. Never again.

I ran a few times. 100yd., mile, and marathon along with a few other isolated events. Never encountered planters Fasciitis or heel spurs, but did have a stress fracture from playing volleyball while overweight. Agony of the feet is not fun.

Used to run cross-country and 5ks. Of course I was a kid and my bones were bouncier back then

Ran a few times myself. Twice rim-to-rim in the Grand Canyon, twice up Pike's Peak and down, about 15 other marathons and maybe over 100 assorted shorter distances.

Now I'm old and fat and none of the t-shirts fit. d'oh!

If you ever see me running, I suggest you don't ask questions and take off. Something big and ugly is chasing me. Prolly Drafter's Momma.
