Is Trump Purposely Trying to Lose in 2020?

Trump seems to have a single-minded focus on the "border crisis": by his dehumanizing descriptions of people seeking asylum, ordering his DHS people to ignore US laws to prevent entry, and firing heads of DHS departments deemed "not tough enough." He's behaving as though that is the most important problem our country is facing today...

He gets distracted from this narrow focus only when he occasionally digs up recriminations against political foes who are no longer threats to him...like McCain, Obama and Hillary...

This was the same game plan he trotted out before the elections of 2018, when he suffered a crippling defeat when the Dems re-gained control of the House...most Americans didn't agree with Trump's narrative then...will they in 2020?

well. we have to reelect him in order to get that great new health insurance.

seriously though, it's well known I am not a fan of his, but I continue to be stunned by the chronic and constant turnover. It's as though stability is too...um...stable for him.

are supporters so comfortable that they just shrug?

Al, are you so sure most Americans will not vote for Trump? Understand this is different than most Americans don't agree with Trump. With a strong economy I am not so sure that most Americans will not vote for Trump.

The border is in crisis...…..ignoring will not make it go away.

That crippling defeat you speak of is typical mid-term elections. If you have dumbocrat in office you get more repubes in the house and vicey versy. But you spin it any way you wish

I would say the turnover is related to Trump not being a politician. If the person he brings in is a business person they may punch out because government doesn't function like a business. And if he hires a bureaucrat then they can't work for a guy that's not a politician.

I assume it's difficult to work for a person who is considered the devil himself by the 24 hour MSM news channels.

Politician: Consistently acts like a horrible person before being elected, during the campaign, and after election
Media : Points out the terrible behavior of the politician
Tailgater: *sobbing* the media makes it so hard for president trump!!!!

F-cking snowflake.

It's like you never heard of consequences of actions.

I offered an opinion based on an absolute truth.

You've interjected your point of view based on your own bias.

Then you attack me.

Again.

I can't tell you how devastated I am...

An oversimplification that probably has an awful lot of truth behind it.

I really don't see that one and a half years in that position is some sort of failure. An impossible job at an impossible time when rational discussions, actions and communications are all impossible. I think she should hold her head up.

Mhmm...
Your bias is evident in your words.

You run around screaming about how biased the media is against trump.... yet you don't ever mention that the reason the media writes stories about him is because he does terrible, stupid things.

You yourself whined about the media bias being in "what isn't said".

Terrible, stupid things like murdering innocent civilians with unmanned drones? The media sure ripped obama apart over that whole fiasco and never let him forget it...

I recall the media mentioning it plenty of times.

The difference is he didn't get exorcised for it because he didn't tweet a meme about killing animals in shiathole countries a day layer... or something stupid like that.

So we are in agreement that the mainstream media has become tmz...

The media "mentioned" Obama murdering lots and lots of innocent civilians...

But they "exorcise" trump for tweeting stupid stuff...

Because murder is worth mentioning, but tweeting is 24/7 news...

Meh...
It's the ultimate outcome of advertising based news sources.

Stories which remain in the news do so because they get eyes.

A story saying the obama administration admits to killing civilians with drones gets a day or two. It doesn't get more because Obama doesn't then do something sensationalist. So it dies. We still know about it, so the news function was performed.

A story about trump administration separating kids at the border gets a day or two. Then his DHS head lies that they arent.... that's another day... then Trump tweets a photo of animals in cages or something stupid like that (I'm sure he tweeted something stupid about that scandal) that's another day or two.... then his kid tweets something about it... that's another day or two... then they try to get a law changed so they can legally separate kids at the border for up to 2 years... that's another day or two... and on and on.

He refuses to let things go. If a news story says his hands are tiny, he'll literally drag it up over and over again for decades. that keeps the news cycle going.

You want our news to not be based on what's sensational?

Then donate to PBS.

You're kidding, right?

You read the story about the tiny hands thing didn't you?

A lifestyles journalist named Graydon Carter called him a "short fingered vulgarian" well over 25 years ago in some societies sheets. And FOR 25 YEARS he sent this guy the occasional tear sheet photo of himself with his hands circled and a note saying "see not so short!"....

We shouldn't even get into the discussion of why he wasn't bothered by "vulgarian" but only by "short fingered".

What's all this talk I hear about "short fingered Bulgarians"?
What does it matter if some Bulgarians have short fingers? Would it be better if more Bulgarians had longer fingers? Would longer fingers help these Bulgarians dial their phones easier? Would longer fingers help these Bulgarians keep their noses less cluttered?
What? Vulgarians?....oh, that's very different....never mind...Anxious
