Tis the season Bro.
Once Spring hits, people buy more, driving bids up. Gets even worse in Summer.
Shoulda been smaht, and stocked up in Winter.

Also, what’s in your wallet?
I have a shiny metal card that lets me into private auctions...

Card of polished pewter?

Far as prices, inflation's a muddafugga

Maybe inflation has a small part in the higher prices but I think KOTC hit the nail on the head. Like Horst, I also believe that most bidders are seasonal buyers. The smaht ones stock up on the “unpopular” sizes in the off-season and reap the benefits a few months / years later.

I don't disagree. My buying spurts are currently based off storage capacity (if I has it, I fills it), so haven't clued into seasonal demographics. My inflation theory though was strictly sarcastic. Failed to emojinote it

Buy heavily early on, that's how you beat inflation.

The King has a gold card - yes real gold. A couple of gold teeth, too.

OP - do you mind if we call you hammy ?

It’s all of those rich guys taunting us. Money means nothing to them. They read the threads here and laugh. It is sick. They light their cigars with $100 bills.

I've noticed they are increasing the starting bids. Looks like it's time to find a new secret.

I love the geniuses that bid more than you can outright buy at several other places on the internet. It seems that if you are going to auctions, you might want to know what good cigars actually cost.

Skippy!!...........oh man!
You are in TROUBLE!!

On another note....
Be thankful for overbidders........they keep the lights on for the rest of us.
Just understand that about half of these "over bidders' are just filthy rich azzhats who love to drive up prices, just for the fun of it knowing they prevented some working stiff a chance to buy some Undercrowns at a good price.

The other half are cbid bots, that hop around jacking up prices.

Oh Skippy... Skippy, Skippy, Skippy... I was gonna demote you to jif, but I don't think you're even classy enough for that... We're gonna call you great value peanut spread... Not a great name, but from what Frank has told me, you've not been great to your mother...

Tis the season. When my staple $8 five packs start closing at $18 - $22, it's time to pack it up till next winter.

it's been over 6 years Skippy! 6 years.
you never wrote, you never called, she's beside herself.
Jif is too good for you. I'm thinking Peter Pan.
