Good morning! Your state went into effect October 1, 2018. Due to changes in your state's tax laws, we're now collecting and remitting the sales tax. Where it applies, we're also collecting and remitting the local sales tax.

Let me tell you how it will be
There's one for you, nineteen for me
'Cause I'm the Taxman
Yeah-eh, I'm the Taxman

Sarcasm directed to all the "taxmen" in this country, and not the good people at CBid, who are only following the rules.

I am not sure why but other PA based online stores do not charge tax. It's not fun when you get slammed for $50 worth of sales tax from CBID.

Inter - state agreements. Tax free buying over the internet is coming to an end. On my trip to tax free New Hampshire I found a cigar shop with no tobacco or sales tax, but their pricing was MSRP.

This is pretty crazy. I live in Ohio and I have 5 purchases from the past 3 months with no sales tax then I make a purchase on a bid yesterday and get thrown a sales tax on ...

If this went into effect months ago, how was it avoided for the past 3 months and why did it go into effect immediately as early as this week? Hmmm... extra 10% or so was unexpected and I'd just like to know what changed.

Unfortunately for some of you, this works out great for some of us. This might lead to some of you from states that they collect tax from, to not bid as much. This means those of us that they don't collect the tax from, to not have as much competition. Pl Membership sure has it's privileges

just so happens I got charged sales tax for the first time evah this week. I hardly ever buy cigars on line anymore, and this was on a short money box of 101 connies (just the CT offering, not Farce or Big Payback)...but it was free shipping and had some kind of cutter thrown in so I didn't care.

I'm in MA and the vendor is in PA.

There are many benefits to my "buy a schittload early on" strategy, and for some people in certain states, this would've been one of them.

Now that Utah prevents the shipments of cigars, I'd be more than happy to pay a state tax rather than being cut off altogether.

If you have to ask, then you’re not a member.
