the Gilberto Oliva Reserva is an excellent budget cigar...well constructed, burns well ...nice flavor with some complexity and subtlety...and at box-prices, about $3/cigar...

If you want to go to $3 each, right now CI has Diesel (Unholy Cocktail) on sale for $89.95 per box of 30, meaning $3 per stick, plus a free Diesel-logo Xikar Stratosphere II lighter with their famous unbelievably-good, eternal-unlimited-replacements, no-proof-of-purchase lifetime warranty... plus free shipping too!

The Diesel is a great everyday cigar. Power, but not overpowering. Some complexity, but not so much that you have to sit undistracted and focus entirely on the cigar. You can do other stuff while enjoying it. It's a great all-around blend for anytime use. Construction is good, burn is even, all the hallmarks of an AJ stick.

I love that lighter. I have 5 of them, they're great. It's a "turbo torch" which is unlike normal torches. It's fatter and less focused, for more diffuse lighting of cigar feet, and it works even at super-high altitudes. Plus it's got a rubberized body that's almost impossible to scratch, and a large fuel gauge that's super easy to read because you look right through the lighter's entire body and can see the world on the other side, so no squinting required.

I see that CBid has the Gilberto Oliva Reserva and related lines for less than $2/cigar for 5'ers and boxes...

Diesels are also great cigars...AJ Fernandez makes many good bang for buck smokes

In addition to the recommendations listed, I like most of the HC Habano series and they can be had for cheap as well.

They kinda suck, IMO. You can get 5 Vegas Gold for around the same price. Also the revamped AB Medalist is a nice mild cigar.
