Why is it that a civil democratic society as advanced as the USA is, at large, unable to see how close we are to getting to an on-ramp to tyranny?

Our POTUS, who is officially the chief law enforcement officer of the land, destructively harangues and undermines federal law enforcement agencies and the judiciary, dangerously raising the level of distrust of those key pillars of our society among large swaths of our people.

Our POTUS openly flouts the rule of law, telling his underlings that he will pardon them if they break the law to do his bidding...

and most dangerously, our POTUS is threatening to use our military in unlawful and un-Constitutional ways, to further his own domestic agendas, beyond the limits that our laws allow, laws that restrict the military to protecting the country from outside threats and not to engage in domestic law enforcement... laws intended to prevent our military from threatening
our democracy....

where are the 2nd Amendment freedom fighters who have at their cores, a fear of our military/government taking away our civil liberties...

1.WE are a representative republic not a true democracy thank God.

2.WE were on this road long before DJT showed up

3.Obama did not undermine federal law enforcement agencies???And to a much more dangerous degree than I see today!!!Now I'm not saying this is right but the timing of your outrage is quite suspicious.

4.Again Obama openly flouting the rule of law was the order of the day...….TIMING AL

5.Ever heard of "Martial Law" Al?It is a useful tool in times of emergency...…..and if you libs would pull your collective heads out of your azzes you would see the "Border Crisis" needs attention now.Is martial law the right answer...….I don't know but I'll take that over sitting back and being spectator at this event.

6.You're going to see damn few "2nd Amendment freedom fighters" siding with the left wing nutjobs on the issue of "Illegal Immigration"...…...No citizens civil rights are at stake here.Bout damn time the left woke up and realized it.

so, you're ok with deploying our military on US soil to forcibly move people within US boundaries into places where they may not want to go, and confine them there...


let's be clear about what the definition of liberty is and who it applies to...our Constitution says "all people"...not all citizens...our founders believed in the value of immigration as a cornerstone of this republic...and the rule of law over the rule of a monarch...

this slope is so slippery, that it'll become easy for another POTUS to round up other groups who can be demonized as threats...


martial law has never been used by the fed/US military in the US...local govts, states/municipalities have, using local law enforcement or National Guard, not US military...

The worst part of the on ramp to tyranny is when you merge in on the left and have to cross 3 lanes of traffic within 1/2 mile to exit right. Might be a metaphor in there but I actually have to do that at "malfunction junction". The on ramp and the off ramp are OK but it's the middle that will kill you.

BTW. ....stimulus money built this crazy xway connector on ramp. Shovel ready! Meaning the engineers were subs to the contactor.

On the other hand, If you want to exit left, you only need to merge into one lane. I guess I am wanting to go somewhere that wasn't part of the grand plan.

They force their way into our country when we tell them we have no room at the inn.
Now they're moaning because we have to move them somewhere else to put a roof over their heads until we can legally throw them back out. Don't give their gripes an audience. It only encourages further law breaking against our country.

no...this is not anything new...we have a history of blaming the "foreigners" for problems in the country...although this idea to forcibly transport asylum seekers to sanctuary cities seems cruel and un-Constitutional to some of us, it brings to mind that we have been capable of egregious fed govt behavior...

there was a sad chapter of racist finger pointing even worse than Japanese internment during WWII...


during the Great Depression, the US engaged in a policy to deport any "Mexican", regardless of their citizenship status: up to 2 million people including hundreds of thousands of US citizens were forcibly loaded onto buses and then onto trains and sent to Mexico...just goes to show what fear and loathing can accomplish...

Interestingly, Texas was excluded from the program designed to allow farm workers...so many entered illegally and thus came the name "Operation ****".
