been watching the Motown 60 on CBS.
maybe not your favorite music, but does anyone not like it at all? Not possible.

I mean, as soon as My Girl starts, or so many others, tell me you don't smile.

Loved the show!
Big part of my music life.
Was lucky enough to see many of the performers in their prime in person.

Smokey has looked like he had a stroke for 20 years, but he was able to finesse a few songs.
Stevie is frickin' amazing.
such great music.

I like Motown. Four tops, Spinners, Commodores, Diana Ross & the Supremes, etc. are in my music library.

LOVE Motown, except for The Supremes. Diana Ross never did anything for me.

I can't stand the sight of Diana Ross. Someone I know in the business has nothing nice to say about her.

“What’s Going On” is one of my all-time favorite albums.

she had a few years where she was smokin' hot, but always seemed pretty high maintenance.

my younger brother passed away earlier this year (RIP)...that was his favorite song...he and several of his church buddies during high school and college would sing that song and practice the Tempt's dance steps for their annual church talent show...I've played that song many times in his memory...

I would have said this a year ago...maybe still do...love the Stax/Volt music and stories...but, I do love Motown, too...but, more and more, I love the stories about the history and locality of great music -- but every region has its great history and music, too. Been watching a lot of documentaries that sure bring that home....growing up, I was pretty oblilvious to the significance of Booker T, the Swampers, or Hal Blaine, not to mention HDH or Gamble and Huff. I'd heard of and knew a little of Spector and Gordy, but never realized, at the time, how geography (and the business) played such a role in R&B and soul. Was a time when I thought Motown was simply synonomous with R&B/soul/funk

We think a lot alike on this. You can go down the rabbit hole on a lot of these small labels and usually find yourself in a damn fine place to be.
