US criminal justice history, especially RICO cases against mob bosses, is littered with corroborated testimony by known lying criminals, including murderers....corroborated testimony by known convicted liars...testimony corroborated by other evidence or other persons...

I prolly won't be around in a generation when US historians discuss the importance of these hearings and the impact they had on Trump's legacy and his place in history...but I remember many GOP stood by Nixon until the bitter end...Trump out-Nixons Nixon...

Funny. When he supports trump he’s good for decades. The minute he doesn’t he’s disposable.

Reminds me of lance armstrong. Everyone else was lying he wasn’t until he was.

I believed the one-ball wonder until it was proven he lied.
Now I don't believe anything he says.

The issue is we're dealing with the opposite.
The democrats never believed Cohen and then proved he was a liar.
And now the DO believe him.

Call me crazy, but that seems worse.

MUCH worse.

Actually it’s the same. the primary is trump/Armstrong.

Everyone was damn liars but Armstrong. All those cheaters that got caught and implicated Armstrong. They were all lying sons of bitches... well except the one he accused of being a prostitute.

It’s the exact same playbook. Vilify everyone else and ignore what you have been surrounded by. Coen is very similar to landice or Hamilton or many others that helped lance win until they got caught cheating. Then they were cheaters but lance was a golden boy. You couldn’t believe a word they said because they lied before. And lances team reminded you of that. What they did to lemons was brutal.

Most tested man in the planet. No bad tests. No collusion. Pay no attention that everyone around him was dirty. Destroy lives to win at all cost. Some folks stuck to that playbook until he literally admitted it and after. He and trump are very similar. Ruthless, arrogant and probably sociopaths.

I don’t like trumps lawyer and don’t trust him. That does not mean he’s not telling the truth. He’s hit rock bottom and is desperate. He may be a sociopath too. I think landice and Armstrong are more similar than different.

Landice only told the truth when cornered and it benefited him. Then he told the truth. Same with Cohen.

Funny how the folks you surround yourself with tell a story. Some just don’t want to hear it.

There may be a day you agree with that. I understand and respect that you do not at the moment.

Cohen will spend some time in prison for his lies and fraud and cheating...it would've been a much longer sentence but the prosecutors gave him credit for building a case against someone more important...

he has provided testimony, documents, recordings and other "evidence" of Trump's crimes that will be corroborated or discarded....if the evidence proves beyond a reasonable doubt that Trump committed crimes...multiple crimes that are being investigated in SDNY......that evidence may put Trump in prison...

it'll be interesting to see if the SDNY will observe the DOJ opinion about not prosecuting a sitting POTUS...

might be more likely DJT JR and/or the First Son in Law are in trouble than the POTUS.

there were some financial documents entered into the record by Cohen during his day before the oversight committee, purporting to show evidence of bank fraud, insurance fraud and tax fraud...crimes that he said were being investigated by SDNY...

Jr and Jared and Ivanka also have exposure to criminal prosecution...

the collusion and stuff is still being looked into, totally different track...I know....it's hard to keep straight all the crap Trump brought with him...

you musta been sleeping and missed the part when Mueller farmed some shady looking stuff on Cohen/Trump off to the SDNY, shady criminal looking stuff they uncovered while investigating the Russia thing...wasn't within the scope of his authority....

remember about a year ago when Trump got all pizzed when he was told the FBI had just served a search warrant at his lawyer's house and office... he said Cohen was a good man then...said they broke into his office...this raid is disgraceful...it's a witch hunt...an attack on our democracy...

seems a whole bunch of criminal justice people have been busy the past two years...Trump has kept his promise to create new good paying jobs...there must be hundreds or thousands of investigators and prosecutors and all their clerks and assistants working on Trump cases...he's a one man job creation plan...

I still think it's nothing more than a witch hunt.

I'm still waiting on Obama's birth certificate and college transcripts.

Actually I think slick Willy committed 2 crimes Frank. It was criminal that the president of the United States could do no better than Monica. Come on, Kennedy did Marilyn Monroe, that was presidential. Oh, and he perjured himself.

can you imagine if every president got asked about infidelity while under oath?

Funny. But not.

I was never a big fan of the Ken Starr investigation.
Not sure how it impacted the Clinton POTUS day-to-day stuff because it was page two material at best during most of the digging.

So here we are again.
Only much worse.
Not because of the evidence of malfeasance, but because it's a 24 hour news cycle with predominantly anti-Trump beliefs.

And here's the thing:
You'd think that a democrat would recall the BS from the Starr investigation and temper the enthusiasm and hyperbole.
Instead it's like a revenge scheme, with newly discovered smoking-gun-dujuors whenever the previous slam-dunk fizzles to nothingness.

Which makes it entirely more divisive and lower class.

Trump hasn't even been charged with anything, and may not.

Clinton was answering questions before a panel of overly moral vigilantes (all of whom later admitted to or were outed as unfaithful husbands) and all was on TV. All under oath.

Perhaps you were too young to stay up for the 11:00 news? I was probably older than you are now when it was happening. But a claim of insider info aiding a real estate transaction in which Clinton LOST 200K ended up as a BJ nearly 3 years later. And he was impeached. You're correct, there is no comparison, but you have it backward. It was yuuuge news.

How far has Mueller drifted compared to that? Oh, that's right, we don't even know yet because it hasn't been completed yet. It's actually not in the news as quotes from Mueller.

But you're outraged over my truth in jest remark?

When it comes to too much news coverage on Trump, the real big investigation is still Mueller and he says very little on the front page, or about anything still ongoing. However, Trump says a lot, disparaging remarks everyday that make the news. Perhaps if he would just shut up for a while there'd be less coverage in the media...?

I do think there is some piling on/over-reach going on among the Congressional Dems...but my lord.... Trump and his circle of associates and their behavior has created a target abundant environment...

I also think the whining by the GOP about the "disgraceful witch hunts" being foisted on the POTUS is ridiculous...they set the standards for Congressional oversight of a POTUS of the opposite party when Clinton was POTUS...and their lack of oversight, or enabling so-called oversight, during the first two years of Trump's term just heightens the contrast...

do you think the GOP would have acted the same and said the same things if Hillary had won and was suspected of doing the same stuff Trump is being investigated for?

and this is just the political environment for Trump...he's going to maintain his support regardless of what political conclusions are reached at the end of all these Congressional inquisitions and the Mueller special investigation...it's just a matter of how many independents are swayed by those findings......this will be like how the GOP continuously investigated Hillary when it was clear she would be a presidential candidate in the years leading up to 2016...there won't be an impeachment...the real objective is to damage Trump for 2020...GOP playbook borrowed by the Dems...

the scarier arena is in the criminal courts of SDNY...Trump is in much more serious danger there, whether he's still in office or after he leaves office...

so, I should clarify that my reply to tail was focused on and limited to Mueller as the equivalent to his post about Starr.

But you are bringing up a good point regarding the Congressional investigations. They have been getting mucho coverage and (both sides) have an agenda prior to conclusions...though it seems obvious to me they have some new hard info that is the stimuli for calling another million people to testify.

and the first two years the GOP majority did ZERO oversight legwork, and that should never happen.

Allow me a generic comment about news coverage today compared to the Clinton era...there is no comparison! The avenues exist now for everyone to release info, technology that was unimaginable 20-25 years ago. Even the current POTUS releases every thought he has (why not complain that Clinton was more secretive than Trump because he didn't tweet?)...so whining about the increase today is silly.

It probably took days or weeks for the entire nation to learn that Lincoln had been assassinated!

pretty sure he said Trump assigned tasks for the purpose of obstruction, and it seems he is leaving that final decision to Congress.
