The 2017 CH Calaveras was meh for me. Hope that the return of the original wrapper will bring back my love for this stogie.

The Las Calaveras EL 2019 features that Ecuadorian habano oscuro wrapper over a Nicaraguan binder and Nicaraguan fillers. Crowned Heads describes the cigar as medium-full to full.

Like many of the last releases, it’s offered in four sizes.

Las Calaveras EL 2019 LC46 (6 x 46) — $10.50 (Boxes of 24, $252)
Las Calaveras EL 2019 LC50 (5 x 50) — $11.75 (Boxes of 24, $282)
Las Calaveras EL 2019 LC54 (5 1/2 x 54) — $12.95 (Boxes of 24, $310.80)
Las Calaveras EL 2019 Torpedo (6 1/8 x 52) — n/a
Each of the three LC vitolas is limited to 1,700 boxes of 24 cigars. In addition, a four-cigar sampler containing one of each of the four vitolas is limited to 2,500 samplers and priced at $49.95.

Agree with most of above. I had high hope's for 2017 (black), but was ...maybe I wouldn't quite call it 'meh', but not near my expectations. In the other hand it was much better than the green (2018, I think. )
IIRC, you are right, the 2014 OR (white) was Ecuadorian Habano Oscuro. I wouldn't be exaggerating to say that 2014 LC was one of the best cigars I have ever had....top 10, easy.
Sadly, they're nearly impossible to find....like you, I hope this new release approaches those.

Disclaimer: the green had a SA wrapper, and I generally dislike those anyway....no preconceptions, though. I didnt know anything about the wrapper until I bought a box and lit one up.

After an initial couple of years of seeking these out each time they were released, I have skipped over these for the last few years...………..will need to try the new blend.

I still have a 2014 - someone said I should hurry up and smoke it as it wont get better.

I lost my mother in 2018 and skipped that yr. I need to revisit it as SA is a wrapper I like. Yea I agree MEH is a strong word...I should have said I was hoping for a home run and got a ground out single to move the runner to second.

Smoke em if you got em!!!! Please report back on that one to see if the flavors mellowed out or got more complex?
