I had actually seen him sing with the Stones when I saw them in Chicago but didn't pay much attention. Was listening to cypress avenue on NPR a few years later and "discovered" him. Now I've seen him several times.
toots and the maytals have a nice album called true love I discovered there too. features tons of great musicians on it. it got me started on the rest of their catalog.
