Sometime during the night, last night, our beloved Norwegian Elkhound, THOR, passed away in his sleep.
He was 14 1/2 years old, and the only dog we ever "showed" in the ring.
He earned his "Champion" when he was only 1 1/2 years old.

My condolences John.

I am so sorry brother. There are no words that can express how I feel for you and your family right now. I recently lost my dog(pic is my avatar) so I know what it's like. I felt like a I lost a best friend and a child. I know he was loved by you guys, 14 1/2 years for a dog of that size is old. That doesn't happen without lots of love and attention. Please tell your wife that I'm thinking of both of you today. You aren't grieving alone and if you wanna talk about it call me please.

Deepest sympathies,
Stephen

My Heart to you brother. I know what it puts you through to lose a best pal that has been family for so many years. If I have said it once I have said it a thousand times. This is the price we pay for such loyalty and companionship from our 4 legged buddies. It knocked me for a loop when we lost Rocco, If I live long enough it will kick me again if I lose any of the other 3 I have now. Honestly though, It is worth every minute in my opinion for they do truly give unconditionally.

I, too, know the pain you are feeling. Know that you provided him with love and companionship which he lovingly returned.

RIP Thor. Sad Sad

Your call last night took away a LOT of the sting, Stephen.
As I said in another post . . . You couldn't have called at a better time.

I remember when you lost Rocco, Chris, and I know you understand the sorrow of losing a dog.
As you say . . . the price you pay for total devotion

My wife and I spoiled him, and he spoiled us in return.

You got to meet him on several occasions, so you know what a cool dog he was.
Thanks Shaun.

When we spoke, Thor was still with us, and I had just gotten off the phone with Stephen.
THAT might explain it, Frank.

Sorry to hear John, God Bless

I had to put my Oden(they spelled it wrong on his paperwork) down early April and I'm still dealing with it. He was my 11 1/2 yr old boxer.

Sorry to hear about Oden, Chris.
Ya know, the day we bring a puppy or dog home, we know, in the back of our mind, that the day will eventually come when we have to "say goodbye" to them. Hopefully, the years of joy and happiness they bring us over the years helps us to deal with that day when it does come.
Thanks for your well wishes.

John, truly sorry to hear of the loss of your buddy Thor. Our thoughts are with you as you get through the pain of the loss. Even though it is hard to say goodbye to our furry family members, it is a blessing that he passed peacefully in his sleep. A beautiful picture of a beautiful dog.

We at the Burner household will always be grateful for you reaching out after we lost our old gal back in 2015. Our thoughts are with you and your wife.
