unwanted Churchills with draw issues but good leaf+ whole leaf wrappers +rolling time= handmade cigarillos?

There's a lot out there with good taste and poor construction. Whole leaf wrapper is available and I may even be able to get away with binder leaf as wrapper. And I can salvage the wrapper from the donor too like with blunts...

I don't think I can roll full size cigars well enough, any time soon, to justify over buying them here but I think this would be a fun experiment to make smaller 15-20 minute sticks with different blends. Might make something with a perfecto profile but in small ring size. My wife has essential oils and diffusers so could even try to infuse some with different flavors.

Just a hobby venture to make different things in between puffs, not trying for a high return on time so not worried about how long it would take to make a 80 cent cigar. If it goes well I'll use whole leaf for filler too. For $50 I could make a couple hundred of them

Thoughts?

You can get like 100 Cuban Monte puritos for like $100 right now, think you'd be better served ordering those than wasting your time on this.

I already make my own cigarettes and there are zero restrictions on that or rolling cigars for personal use.

Like I said in the original post near the end I would do this while smoking cigars and would enjoy it as a hobby, not to save money... The economics aren't bad either way. A pound of binder is $25. A pound(448 grams) of whole leaf cigar filler is $18. A purito weighs 2.1 grams.. I could roll over 400 of them with that 2 pounds.. If it's over the course of a year, that's okay. I'd probably make a form to wedge the filler into and make in batches of 20 or so then wrap them the next day.
A churchill has about 15 grams of tobacco btw so you could make 15 puritos from 2 churchills which could cost as little as $1 each.

I don't know who that is but if this is some kind of gay joke about smoking pipe on a cigar forum, I expect better than that out of you folks. I haven't seen such tobacco related homophobia since that one time I was helping my Jamaican friend tie his shoes at the bus stop whilst smoking a 70x7.0" Maduro. A couple Korean War vets with poor vision called the cops for indecency as they were about 20 yards away and there was fog.

VHS - I think I heard about that story somewhere... are you the one that made it up ? Perhaps you should read the forums a bit, particularly the topic "What'cha BRIAR azzhats smoking 100,000? " before making any accusations.

Is there a chance your eyesight was off and not theirs? Perhaps it wasn't a cigar after all....

Zinger of the day.

I'm looking forward to seeing pictures of your self-rolled puritos.

Thanks brother, I am looking forward to rolling them. I was pretty good at similar tasks in high school. Hope it's like riding a bike

Hey VHPs4. Fully support your interest. Go for it. I’ve currently got some sticks basting in a proprietary potion. And BTW - your last response was f’n hilarious. Bravo! Requesting that you roll a little extra in mine...

On a side note: Does anyone remember Jimmy Stewart rolling perfectos on the veranda in Shenandoah while discussing marriage with Doug MacClure?

Go for it and let us know how they turn out.

I have a suspicion that the good taste/poor construction thing is a little more complicated and won't likely be fixed by rolling your own. I could well be wrong, though.....and even if I'm right, changing the ring gauge of the innards could stumble you into a successful roll. All you can do is try.

I just tend to give most of the makers credit for putting good blends of quality leaf into the hands of decent torceadors. Construction 'issues' may have resulted from a blend that just doesn't work together to burn right....or improper storage during its life.

At any rate, have at it. If nothing else, you'll learn much about our hobby and the challenges in blending and building.

Anyone remember clockboy?

He took apart a decent clock and reassembled it into a less decent clock and then got to meet Obama... I say go for it!

You might have to move to Qatar at some point though... Think
