Hey man, if you haven't yet, go to YouTube and look up "Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds - Babe I'm On Fire", the full 14-minute version. Not one with the album cover just sitting there, but the actual video for the song.

Hell of a music video, wow. It's frenzied but awesome.

WOW!
Crazy! Intense! And funny as hell. Damn good song too.
Yep, I think they covered every possibility.

Almost triggered my Tourettes

Gonna have to revisit this one over the weekend when it's music/whiskey/smokes/fun time

Thanks Puddin!

Glad you liked it!

That band is awesome. Give this a try sometime, it's my favorite album from them. Dark and brooding mixed with intense bursts of energy and power. Very creative musical elements not seen in other music. Just thoroughly excellent overall.

I started listening to this album a quarter-century ago when it came out, and haven't stopped. It's so damned good and inventive that it simply never gets old!

Thanks Puddin

Got it in my cue to listen to later.

Speaking of music that does sound old, but in a very, very good way.

Ten Years After - Recorded Live - 1973

(should auto-play through a handful of the songs if you've got that selected)

The whole album is phenomenal. Highly recommend it.
Was introduced to it by my Uncle over 35 years ago when I was a kid.
Nothing compares to it. Remains one of my favorites to this day

After Woodstock, I went out and bought every Ten Years After record.

Live is always great. Cricklewood Green is a nice early studio effort .

A Space In Time - yes
I bought that album and absolutely love it.
A different animal than the live stuff, but very cool and creative in it's own way.

The studio stuff seems a bit rigid and restrained when compared to live,
and doesn't offer the same organic feel and richness of sound of the arena.
And Alvin Lee just let's loose and opens up.
But in no way feel that there's anything negative about the studio work.
The live version just expands the experience.

After getting A Space in Time, I bought About Time, which was their 1989 comeback.
So disappointing. They went commercial, trying to pattern themselves after the crap that was selling at that time.

That kinda soured me from picking up any more of their stuff.

I will have to check out Cricklewood Green and Undead.
I would love to get another taste of their work.

There's some very good stuff from Nick Cave, with and without the Bad Seeds, but also some painfully slow, depressing poetry/ballads that I was never able to tolerate.

a few good albums with the Bad Seeds:
Dig Lazarus Dig
Abattoir Blues
The Lyre of Orpheus
(the last two available as a 2 cd set)

and a beautiful soundtrack done in collaboration with Warren Ellis for the movie The Assassination of Jesse James by The Coward Robert Ford...which I believe is an Australian film.

Hey, anyone know happened to the Newt? Didn’t mean to run him off.
Just supporting my position. He was very emphatic about his. Even used all caps.
Didn’t want to berate him. But if he came to the conclusion that he was being an idiot, I’d be OK with that.

Just been thinking about it…
And then I had a moment of clarity.

Newts are NOT reptiles. They’re amphibians.
And all this time, I’ve been treating them like reptiles, Newt included.
And expecting them to behave like reptiles.
And that’s been the problem all along. They’re more like toads than they are like lizards.
It’s wrong. It’s just dead wrong. I feel so much shame…

So, in hindsight, there’s really nothing wrong with Mr. Newt.
He was just acting like an amphibian. Because his is one.
The problem really is with me fellas, isn’t it?

Sorry Mr. Newt. Please come back.
If ya come back, I promise to treat you just like a toad.

Did a little more digging on the newt. I knew there was somethin shifty about him.
Ya see fellas, he’s no ordinary garden variety newt. He’s a Taricha newt. Should’ve known by the smell.
“Taricha newts of western North America are particularly toxic. The rough-skinned newt Taricha granulosa of the Pacific Northwest produces more than enough tetrodotoxin to kill an adult human, and some Native Americans of the Pacific Northwest used the toxin to poison their enemies.”

Knew it.
