I recently won my bid for a box of Havana Sunrise Maduro robustos. It seems to me that they are wrapped a little tight and its hard to get a good draw or a lot of smoke without puffing like crazy. Is anyone else having the same problem or do these just need to age a little in my humidor?

I also got a box in that auction. Mine are not that bad. I ran into one out of the the three I have smoked that was tight, (so tight in fact, I tossed it).
I dunno, i'm gonna put them away in the humidor for a few months and see what happens.

I use a thin ring-shanked nail to open up any problem sticks.
Just skewer that sucker and make sure you keep it centered.

Always manage to open it up with a little work.
I don't throw any of 'em away.

Also:
When you're out and find yourself without a cutter,
grab a ball point pen and jam it into the center of the cap.
You gotta be sure to have the circumference of the tip tightly held in your hand so that you don't crack the wrapper
(Know I'm getting some of these guys excited now. Just relax til the lady gets home fellas)

Be resourceful. Quit bein' a pansy

Tried a lot of different things to augment the draw on tight cigars but finally quit being a cheapskate and got this:

http://perfecdraw.com/perfecdraw/

While I rarely have to use it, when I do, it usually “fixes” the cigar on the first attempt...can’t say the same with the toothpicks / bamboo skewers / nails / drill bits / icepicks, etc. that I tried in the past.

I realize the price may scare some off but after a few times, it will pay for itself.

Of course, you could purchase a tool that's specifically designed to attack the problem at hand, but that's too logical for me d'oh!

I was just trying to see if 19 years in the humidor made these cigars better...

Nothin satisfies quite like the Log.
Wish they would bring that one back.
Probably too expensive to produce...
