Should be an interesting weekend. Dad broke his hip, another member of the family with heart palpitations. Not exactly how I drew this up. Still have it better than most people people in the Midwest this week.

Heading home soon. Hit too many damn cities this trip. Checking on potential suppliers and dealing with the trade show.

Stayed in 5 different cities and passed thru a couple more. Each in excess of 1mm people.

Thanks, Brother. Could be worse- could be a broken hip in China.

Wife says it is. She's not thrilled about the lack of a basement now. I may have to build her a shelter area...

Mud was getting a bit dehydrated.

More rain took care of that.

Gridlife Midwest is coming up next weekend.

Just got my job assignment. One year it was parking lead. Another was tech inspection 2nd. Last year was breakfast dude and trackside fill in. I always cook for the trackside staff in the times I can break away and get to the camper to make something. I run around on my pitbike with a cooler of water to all the help as well. I said my job is to make everyone's workday suck a little less.

This year that's my actual job. Food dude for trackside staff. Job description is "danmdevries"

Pulled a dumb one last night.... Negotiated a part minute sleepover for the kids at my parents and stayed out all night with the wife... Got a couple hours of sleep, now scrambling to feed, clothe, and ship the boy off to school... Worth it, but this morning is already tough...

You got it backwards. I'm in da middle of da weekend!

Didn't get any yellowtail yesterday, as only 4 were caught, but I did get 2 big lingcod and a bunch of other rockfish.

At least something was pulling on my line...

I got 4 whitefish, 3 tree fish, a red, and a blue bass. I think they gave someone else one of my tree fish, as 10 is the bag limit in Mexico... and with the 2 ling, I had 11.

Trying to build out a menu so I can get grocery shopping done and try to get memorial day sales.

Actually being responsible for feeding 15ish dudes three meals a day for 4 days is a lot of food. I've always done 15ish breakfasts and maybe 6 lunch and dinners for the weekend and that takes up all my camper fridge/freezer space and a stuffed cooler.

Wife said I can't buy the camp griddle/flat top grill because she wants to save that for birthday present... I'm gonna need a lot more cookspace than the camper stove and two mini gas grills can give me. Might do fine with my charcoal kettle plus the camper and two grills. Might bring my big generator along so I can run the electric griddle and toaster too.

Wife brought another child home with her to spend the night.

I'll be out in the garage with beer and cigar, then straight to my basement.

Need to stop bringing home stray children. They'll never learn to fend for themselves in the wild that way

Tiny hands are the devils workshop or something like that.

Wtf is with this weather. It seems like about a month of non stop violent storms. I need a landscaper to help with the erosion.

But my immediate issue is we are under a tornado warning (not watch) and the sirens are going off. I want to leave for the movies in a few

It was really windy and rainy here in SoCal. Fishing at the islands suffered for it... water was dirty and got considerably colder. We only got 4 yellowtail to bite yesterday and they got none to bite today.

Relegated to bottom fishing... what's this world coming to?

It didn't come out of her, her sister pooped it out.

It's a lot noisier than our 2012 variant.

Thankfully the tornados haven't come (yet?) Here, but the rain has been relentless.

I fear for our track weekend next week. The parking areas are gonna be soupy, and the campground a mud pit. Need to fit 10k people in, and out... I think there's gonna be a few emergency truckloads of stone and straw inbound. Gonna love spreading all that out by hand next week.
